Ok...so just as with many other people simply trying to wash their rear window at a gas station, I snapped the wiper arm. I ordered a new one and a couple blades. It would be nice to be able to purchase the blades from a store but no, they have to be special. You can get rear blades for the Enclave right at AutoZone but why not for the Acadia?...stupid...
So I got my nice new arm installed and went to push on the blade and to my amazement, the cheap plastic pin breaks off the blade! Pissed that I just wasted an overpriced blade, I try the second one and it's pin snaped as well! I'm not a moron when it comes to mechanics. I'm capable of doing just about any repair mechanical or electrical and have done so for years on various vehicles. Why is this design so flawed? ??? I highly doubt the repair manual states that you must first use a heat gun to soften and expand the clip.
