Did you get the captains chairs or a second row bench?

Got the bench, so we could seat 5 with the rear loaded up. That's worked out pretty well. Access to the third row when we use it is really good and folding/sliding seats go. I've ridden in the third row... in a rental Acadia on a business trip... and I'm actually still pleasantly surprized at how much room is back there.

Got the captains chairs, because the kids are all grown now, Wish I would had something like this years ago when the kids were young to keep them away from each other.

I just got my 2013 Acadia with Captain Chairs. My 4 year old likes the freedom when he first gets in. We are expecting a baby in Aug and will most likely utilize the 3rd row more often once two car seats are installed. The captain chair configuration will make getting in and out of the third row easier.

Nobody wants to have to sit behind a wall of seat in the cargo area. Captains seats on the other hand present a respectable, accessible cabin that feels bigger and provides more leg room for at least one leg of your 3rd row passengers. And of course, families with two cars seats don't have to remove them to have guest get in the 3rd row.

And nothing looks more open and airy than this...

I agree with all your thoughts, but I needed the bench because I have 3 kids and need of the cargo area. We rarely use the third row, so access isn't a big deal for us. The bucket seats look a lot nicer!

and if you have 8 on board--- it means that someone is not going....
or you are now a 2 car caravan...

But- if anyone really wants to get 2 baby seats side by side- in the bench seat- and still have easy access to the 3rd row- it can be done- with DIONO car seats. (and I think Britax).

I have a post on there with pics of the Dionos installed.. if theres any parents that are wondering.

I'm beginning to think that you are a salesperson for Diono and Britax :)

not at all---- just adding in the info-- cause some parents may come on here and read and think they cant get an 8 seater and sit 2 side by side....

oh there you go, now were going to get more RB photos. Can't wait........

no-- not posting pics at the moment.
its only July 10-- and im already nearing 70% of my allotment on photobucket... when I reach 100%- all pics in all post will dissapear.
Until Aug 1. I suspect in the next 3 days or so- ill reach 100%.
I received quite a few private messages from members wanting to see pics...
Last month I reached capacity around July 21 or so...

I dont know why this is happening-- maybe my pics are being linked to other sites.
or lots of folks surfing the lambda forums?

But I figured-- if they really want to see the Dionos- they can search that forum.
I actually went thru part of my photobucket acct and removed pics that are not important in some threads.... in case you see broken links.

Don't sweat it rbarrios. When my boys were younger I was a car seat nut job. We had 2 Britax marathon car seats in the odyssey. My friends thought I was nuts to spend $600 on 2 car seats but you can't put a price on safety IMHO. One is completely out of a car seat and my younger son still rides in a Clek padded booster. Also in the upper end of backless boosters. I used to work at the r&d center for an oem and have seen first hand what happens at just 35 mph in a collision.

I have twins and had to purchase 8 Car Seats!!! Two for each of our cars and two for each of Grandma's cars, sheesh ! We roll with the Graco Nautilus™ Elite 3-in-1 Car Seat.

We just switched seats around, very easy to do with the anchor systems in most vehicles. If the grandparents wanted their own seats, they could have purchased their own seats :)

we bought 2- seats- normal types-- wide up top... and found they were a hassle..

bought 1 diono- $280, liked it so much we ordered another one right away. $560 for 2 seats..
But well worth it- since were able to use the functionality of the 2nd row sliding seats.

the dionos are used between the Traverse and Equinox.

the original 2 seats.... 1 is in grandpas car-- and the last one- we gave to a needy family.

I have britax, and no way can two fit. It may depend on which model you use though.
I was able to get two safety first Omegas on the outboard spots with a peg perego car seat base in the center.
This is on second row bench btw.

ahhh safety first-- Omegas- are the ones we initially bought...
Dionos- all slim and will fit side by side in the 60 portion of the bench
