BBC, you need to go and get yourself a Porsche! ::)

I was pretty sure i wanted to get the MDX, but after driving both, I bought the Acadia. I had a jaguar xk-8 I traded in, so I'm used to a speedy car. This is more of a cruiser mobile. If I wanted more speed, I would have kept the Jag. it performed great last winter. In fact, i tried several times to see if I could get it stuck, driving off the road in deep snow, and it never got stuck. Resale is going to kill me, so I plan on keeping this for a long time, even if I get another sports car, i will keep this one.

I will probably keep mine for a long time also. I don't like losing money so I usually keep a car at least 150,000 to 200,000 miles.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I will eventually use the Acadia for light camper towing and I have heard the MDX is not good at towing because the suspension is so soft. My wife doesn't like the look of the Enclave from the outside. She did like the interior though. We are also 28 years old so she thinks Buick is an older person's car. No offense to anyone that was her opinion not mine. I think I have finally convinced her to get the Acadia because it is a smarter purchase and we can probably get 0% financing right now. We aren't too worried about the resale value cause we plan to keep it a while. Thank you again and lets hope she doesn't change her mind over the next month.

I don't see too many old folk driving the Enclave; I think it's too modern. I generally see them in Regal's etc.

We were similar. While we liked the Acadia outside better, the wood trim in the Enclave was a deal killer for us.

I'd agree with jsimms about who I see driving an Enclave. When I was growing up, my dad always had Pontiacs. In the past 20 years or so he has only driven Buicks- LeSabres until they went out of production, now he has the smaller 4 door- Lucerne maybe?

Lucerne or LaCrosse. Lucerne is actually a nice driving vehicle - I rented one in FL a few years ago. At least the Enclave doesn't come with a fake covertible ragtop like some of the LeSabres did.

I like the Enclaves as well, but then again it is going to be the wife's car. It is not worth the argument. I am sure many on here can agree.

i think you are making a smart choice. the mdx was also my first choice but after driving the acadia, there were no more looking around. like what others have said, its more bang for you buck. congratulations. :thumb:

The resale value is less of a issue as of late. I got in on the deal that GM will cover a shortfall of what is owed vs the trade in value as along as I buy another GM product and that I have made payments of at least half the loan term

When we purchased our Acadia last year, the #2 choice was the MDX. We got the Acadia simply because we got an excellent deal, and the Acura dealer wasn't willing to negotiate. If you're looking for space and all around comfort for the family, get the Acadia. The MDX really isn't THAT luxurious. IMO, the 3rd row seat is pretty much useless and there is too much road/engine noise for such an expensive vehicle. It's faster and more nimble than the Acadia, but that probably shouldn't be the focus for a family car. :thumb:

Great point related to a family car. So many seem to think the Acadia should be 0 - 60 in 3 seconds. cmon.

OK - it's been a month. Does anyone know if spydergs1 got his Acadai? ???
