I stopped in and peeked at this string when it first started. I didn't make a comment because I thought it wouldn't be pertinent.
Since then, I have received a call from my dealer telling me that, (1) he had an order number which was five alpha characters in length; (2) he stated that my Acadia, as ordered, would be built the
week of July 21st (not on a specific date, as was the good fortune of another of our members); (3) he told me he would provide me with the pricing/actual order/invoice/window sticker
and I'm guessing that the paperwork will contain the VIN today (I spoke with him last Friday). He assured me that he would call back Monday. Instead, I had e-mail
him. When he responded he stated that the "truck manager" had the actual paper work, but was on vacation and would not return until today. He insisted that he would either call or send me an e-mail. Guess what? No message.

I sent him an e-mail, to which he responded that he couldn't get to the invoice because he would be off work tomorrow, so he will get back to me Thursday. ??? What a runaround.

hno: :help:
Thing is, I have been asking this dealer from the beginning to provide me with some paper work so that I could confirm my order (he insisted that the order he placed was accurate), and I also wanted to monitor the progress of the build using the Status Codes you guys have been referring to in earlier posts/strings. For some reason he has never even acknowledged that he knew anything about the Status Codes. He never seems to respond to my inquiries about the codes directly, chosing instead to change the subject or make reference to other issues regarding this order. I'm starting to think that either he doesn't know about them or understand the importance of the status of the order to his customer, or, he just doesn't care and would prefer not to busy himself with supplying that additional information.
I realize that he probably is not required to disclose such information, but it would go far to reduce my anxiety about even placing this order with GM. :banghead:
Should it really be this hard to place an order for a new vehicle?

Any thoughts from anyone about how this is being handled? :help:
