Water in Headlight

I have a 2010 Acadia SLT-1 and the passenger side headlight has about 2 inches of water in it. The drivers side is completely dry and working fine since I bought it. I had to replace the bulb in the passenger side back in October 2015. Has anyone had this problem before? Shop estimate is almost $700 parts and labor.

Thanks,
Steve

Did the shop tell you what they believe the problem might be? What kind of lights are on the car - halogen, or HID? If they're HID lamps, this could apply to your car:

#14823: Special Coverage Adjustment - Daytime Running Lamp Inoperative - (May 12, 2015)
Models: 2007-2012 GMC Acadia Equipped with High-intensity Discharge Headlamps (RPO TVD) Heat generated by the daytime running lamp (DRL) may deform the bulb gasket. This condition could result in the loss of DRL function and cause damage to the headlamp assembly. Dealers are to inspect the headlamp for damage and replace the headlamp assembly as necessary. For headlamps without damage, dealers are to install a new gasket and reinforcement plate between the socket and the reflector. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

If there's that much water in it, either there is a crack in the housing or the lens / housing seal in leaking bad. A hair dryer isn't going to fix that. Unfortunately, replacing the headlamp assembly is probably what will be needed.

RockAuto.com has replacements for $150-185, or a salvage yard might have one available for less. Then take it to an independent body shop and they could probably replace it in about an hour or two (another $150-200).
