I have a low beam headlight bulb out. I changed to a new bulb, but it still didn't come on. I looked closely at connector and it looks fine. Wanted to know if I can measure voltage safely at the connector socket. I just bought my 2008 acadia a few weeks ago and don't want to mess anything up. I have H11 bulbs. If it is safe to measure voltage would I be looking to get 12V at connector socket.

Thanks for any info

Thanks for the info guys. There is a gmc dealer a few blocks from my house so I will look into the recall. Just hope it isn't too late since the car is 4 years old.

Re: Is is safe to measure voltage at headlight connector socket.

Wanted to update you guys on my lighting situation...

Just got car back from gmc dealer yesterday after work. Dealer said my car received the recall over a year ago and that wasn't the problem.

I was told a fuse inside the headlight housing had blown. Since I have never heard of a headlight housing having its own fuse, I asked him a few more times to make sure there was no miscommunication. He reiterated each time that it was infact a fuse inside the headlight housing.

Just wanted to share this info as it may help someone in the future.
