The code is telling you what went wrong. Sometimes the engine throws a code due to a temporary problem. I carry a Scanner in my 08 Acadia. I have a code about twice a year. When this happens my Acadia goes in to "LIMP" mode. No engine power, stabilitrack and traction control off. I have found that if I read then ERASE the code it restores the vehicle back to normal power and the stabilitrack and traction control are normal. I am not recommending you ignore the code, but if you are on a trip and need to drive back home? I assume that if the problem was not a temporary situation (bad gas) the code will come back. So far this has worked for me. However, I do see we have a history of throttle body problems and yours may need replaced.

Hi all.
Hopefully following up on this thread will trigger previous post owners for a reply.
We have a 2012 Acadia, All wheel Drive. uncertain if its an SL or SLT.....it's my wife's so I don't get in and out of it too frequently.

Recently the Service Stabilitrac, Service Traction Control alarms came on with the reduced power. When I research this there seems to be an overwhelmingly opinion that it's the throttle body.
I have a couple of questions if someone would care to offer an opinion.

- do I need more detail before I diagnose this as throttle body? would it help to go to an auto parts store and get the specific error codes?
- some threads mention it could be the connector - ot the throttle body - or just the throttle body needing cleaning. a) would cleaning potentially help or in your opinion - once the lights are on - is it time to replace? b) any easy way to tell if it is the harness vs the throttle body itself?

Lastly. I'm not a mechanic but I'm relatively handy. Are there any decent videos or guides to changing out the throttle body? I've found some decent videos on You Tube but haven't seen anything on changing out the throttle body on the acadia

Really appreciate any replies.

get the codes read.
and do a simple cleaning of the TB. (without removing it). that is spray and move the butterfly around to get smooth movement.
the spray cleaner is about $5.

if this doesnt fix it-- proceed from there.

I had the same thing happen to me on 11/11/17. I was on the highway and it kicked off those alerts. Luckily I was not too far from my mechanic....long story short It was my fuel pump. $800 bucks later issue resolved.....and I noticed the acceleration was improved, not that it was an issue before, but I noticed a difference.

what model year do you have?
2009+ have 2 fuel pumps... low pressure in tank and High pressure mounted to the side of engine.....

sorry...should have been more specific.... I have a 2012 Arcadia SLT, and you are correct it has 2 pumps.. one at the tank and one at the engine... the one at the engine went bad...prior to the issue on 11/11, the car, in my opinion, was running fine and handled well since I bought it used on 7/20/17.

However, after the pump replacement, it accelerates a whole lot better, and my gas mileage per gallon has gone up!

If you put that info in the signature block of your member profile, you'll (almost) never be asked for it again.

2014 Acadia Traction control off message, service traction control, and then engine is power is reduced. Has a P1682 code which is an ignition code. I have replaced the battery as cranking amps were low an low voltage can cause a lot of crazy issues. I replaced the throttle body with an ac delco oem throttle body from dealership. 135.00 thanks to my nephews discount.

I took vehicle to Mcarthy Chevrolet for diag. They diag brake pressure switch. I asked about igniition code and they wrote could not duplicate.

After replacing throttle body car ran fine for almost 3 weeks. Drove it from Cleveland to Kansas City no issues. Fuel mileage even increased about 3 mpg. The last 2 weeks car has died or reduced power at least 7 times.

I check connection no chaffed or broken wires. connection is secure and tight. I have not shot continuity on wiring. I cannot find schematic.

My mechanic and my nephew who is a GM technician does not believe it has anything to do with brake pressure sensor. I don't either simply bc it throws the P1682 code every time.

If you pull over and let it set for a minute it starts back up and runs fine. It dies at random times under all types of driving conditions from crusing on highway to stop and go traffic around town. It has happened while driving for 2 hours on freeway and literally 3 minutes from home not going over 35 mph.

This Acadia thus far has given me a lot of problems but this issue makes me want to never own another GMC .

We have a 2013 Acadia SLT (88k miles) in the shop right now getting the high pressure fuel pump replaced. First got the trifecta warnings: low engine power, stabilitrak off, and traction control off. Tried the throttle body cleaning procedure with no luck. It wouldn't start for for a while until I accidentally sprayed throttle body cleaner in the throttle body while moving tools around when my wife was trying to start it. Luckily I was able to drive it in low power for 50 plus miles to a dealership that could help. Cost in Corvallis, OR for parts and labor to replace was $1,011.

Codes I got after cleaning the TB were mass air flow and high pressure pump warnings.

Did you ever resolve your issue? My 2014 is doing the exact same thing.

Like rsouth5 and Lacey1107 I am having the exact same issues. Anyone have a resolution?
Seems you're asking for answers from 'one and done' forum members. Have you had any diagnostic scans run on your vehicle. Someone could help if they knew which trouble codes are set (and the model year of your Acadia).

P1682 is the code. 2014 Acadia
Denali. Truck randomly shuts off, under deceleration, steady speed, idle. Seems to be more frequent when cabin heat is turned on. Throws the 3 messages on the driver message center (Traction Control, Engine Power Decreased, Service Stabilitrac). Sometimes will restart immediately, sometimes takes 2 attempts, sometimes takes 20 minutes). Also says "Driver 5, Line 2"

Could be a problem with the ignition circuit. You'll find this interesting to read: P1682 GMC - Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2. This, too: WHAT IS DRIVER 5 LINE 2 WITH THE P1682 CODE

Sounds like one of those codes that it would be worth having a dealer tech troubleshoot and resolve.
At the least, find someone with a quality scan tool, the right diagnostic software, and the skill to use it. OBD II troubles don't always warrant a trip to the dealer.

Speleos ....Yes, there's some helpful info there. I've read many references to it most commonly being the ignition switch. That's been replaced already, with no change in symptoms.

Throwing parts at a problem doesn't always provide a solution.

I don't disagree but there are times when I would prefer a dealer tech take a look. This sounds like one of those times. Especially since TAchter has already replaced the ignition switch. Sounds like one of those issues that will be a PITA to resolve.
