Thanks for the reply guys, I guess I will keep it stock. LOL Coming from really fast cars, mine in AWD Sport mode is actually not that bad to drive. I really like it.

I love love love this Acadia!! The acceleration , the comfort and the overall performance is downright awesome for what I paid for it!! This thing can get up and go to the point that I feel like I am driving my 04 M3. It also is so comfortable that the trip I just took through the beautiful back roads of VA that took 4 hours felt like 2. (Yes we hauled *** on said roads and it hugged every corner better than some sports cars I have driven). All this and it’ll hold 6, pick up the groceries and little Johnny’s baseball practice junk as well as him so you can race home and do it all again Tuesday!! I’d love to say I’ll let my wife have her Acadia back anytime soon but I wont’ lie to you fine men and woman like that!!! LOL!

Yeah the handling impressed me too. You got an M3 too?
Did have an M3....the E46 was one of my favorite. I rebuilt an 04 330Ci that I picked at an auction from a junkyard and traded it in on the M3 and man did life get crazy. My first fast car since my 85 Monte Carlo SS back in high school and god was that car fun. Totaled it and miss it everyday!

As I am reading your post I was thinking how we are getting off topic but hey, its my post so EFFIT.

I actually like the M4, and the 4 series overall but it was weird that the higher up the bimmer chain you went, the smaller the interior. The 4 series feels so much more roomier than the 5, 6 or 7 series.

The cars I miss most? My 97 camaro 6-speed and the 98 camaro LS1 auto. Not the corvette, surprisingly. Nor the mustangs, G37, trucks or daily driver 4 bangers. I miss my f-bodies.

Yes....you are going to get us in trouble!! I do miss the Monte and the M3 the most. Both insanely insanely fast with thosands of dollars of mods. It sounds like we are brothers from different mothers as it sounds like I have had just as many oh I say many cars over my 45 short years of life!!!!

I had and really liked the E46 also. Just a 325i, but such a nice car to drive. That was my second BMW after an E36 325i.
My C5 Z06 killed them in every way, but those 3 series are seriously nice vehicles that I liked more in many respects.
No complaints about the Acadia, it's enough for me... plenty of power, handles very well, great highway vehicle. All good.

Give what a shot? I don't understand the point of a video that shows the 0-60 time being pretty much as advertised.

Now I might think differently if you showed some videos of taking it bracket racing on Friday nights at the local drag strip.
I am sitting here chuckling about the reply. Back in my youth I used to care about performance in my sport cars.
Now my primary concern is that my daily driver be able to get to 60 before I am run over as I merge into traffic.

I keep saying I'm going to get rid of my '95, but I just can't. It was my first brand new car. The engine is probably worth more than blue book for the car.

More than likely. Couple of weeks ago I helped my son's brother-in-law with a '96. He bought it on Friday for $800. On Saturday we determined it had a blown head gasket. Sunday morning he listed it on FB Marketplace. By Sunday afternoon he had it sold for $1800.

Same with my son. When he got out of college he bought and '01 Z-28 with 200k miles for next to nothing. Drove it for 2 years before the transmission failed. He replaced it with a nice low mile '02 TransAm WS6. He had a guy drive 500 miles to buy the Z-28 just for the engine. Paid him close to what he originally paid for the car.

Folks love those LS engines.

Yes people do love those LS engines. Whenever I am looking for my next toy, that the wife won’t let me have, and I always see LS swap on the motor side of things. I have to admit I am kind of a novice wen it comes to this. I was taught a lot growing up that I don’t remember but am hoping through all of this some of it will start to come back!
What is it about the LS motor that they love?

cracks knuckles

What makes the LS engine such a wonderful powerplant is the cathedral type heads, the 6 bolt main block, aluminum block and heads, plastic intake, and the ability to rev to the moon.
What makes the LS engine such a HORRIFIC motor is the oil pumps. When they fail, your bearings spin like a top.

In 97, they put the LS1 in the C5 corvette and it changed everything about the car for the better.
In 98, they put the LS1 in the f-body cars and it changed racing forever! In 97 you had a max of 285hp from the LT1 but in 98 you got 305 for no extra cost! But it actually made 345, same as the vette, but they couldn't say that so GM rated the REAR WHEEL horsepower figure. But it was essentially the same output as the Corvette.
In 2001, the corvette got the LS6 385hp Z06 version, which was fine, but from 2002-04 it was bumped to 405hp and that was fun! Of extra note, the C5 FRC (fixed roof coupe) gave you the Z06 look without the extra cost OR the motor. So its very very rare.
Other LS engines were the LS2 and LS3 found in the GTO (both got the worst mpg ever), the LS7 found in the C6 Z06 and the infamous LS9 found in the ZR1 making 638hp from a supercharger.
Trucks got LS engines also but they were iron blocks to withstand the rigorous duties of towing and other truck stuff.

Ah the infamous LT1 and that horrific optispark. Bet you lost count on how many times you have replaced that turd huh? I did it twice on my 97 and years later, they come out with a digital version. Were you ever a member of the forums back in the day?

Must post pics! That is hands down the car I would love to own!

Will need to track some down. It went away a while back for an '11 SS Camaro.

His was black on black. It was a true barn find. Parked uncovered for 6 years in a barn up in PA with 80k miles. Owner had medical issues and was desperate for cash. Came with a brand new GM crate transmission. Definitely a fun car to drive.

We both have our eyes out for one of the rare burnt orange ones.

Have helped folks replace those.....you have to wonder what the heck the GM folks were thinking to let that come to market.

I am 47 this year so you are the younger brother. I have had 14 cars thusfar but will be at 15 this winter. Depending on what job I get next I still want to get another f-body. Yeah there are faster cars that are newer but the WS6 just holds a special place. And I know that car inside and out. With a strong motor, you can just add 4.10 with a torsen, 3600 yank converter, intake lid, and the free ram air mod and boom, your an 11 second car. $1500 in parts. What's sad to think about is this new Acura TLX Type S with its 355hp will probably be in the 11s with a tune and drag radials. Evolution.

Their mind was still stuck in the 60's when cars needed distributors. I still don't think they should have revived the LT1 for the newer motors. Why not LX? That would have been cool, and less confusing because now you have the 70s LT1 motor, the 90s, and now the 16+ models.
