@ilvr, I’m so happy they took good care of you with this. Did they talk with you about the parts and labor warranty that should have come with the repair? If not, I recommend talking with them about this so you understand this as it should be 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever happens first.

It’s my pleasure to assistance the members of the forums where I can.

Gee, and here I have been thinking I am getting senile for the difficulty I had in trying to change the rear blade (two fronts were simple). Finally I gave up rather than forcing it. Obviously GM design must have mandated that blade replacement requirement=trade in time on new vehicle

The job is do-able without breaking anything if you follow the procedure I previously posted from the FSM and remove the wiper arm first.

Does anyone know if the 2013 GMC Acadia wiper arm is compatible with 2012?

I had to replace the arm on the rear wiper a few months ago. A Chevy dealer in Oregon has an eBay store, got the OEM arm, new wiper, (already attached), new fluid hose, free shipping, no tax, $43. The spot where the bolt holds it on the motor split, maybe because its PLASTIC...

You are right. I saw some video posted online. It shows that Traverse rear wiper arm is different than Acadia. It is easy to replace a wiper on Traverse. It seems almost everyone have broken when replacing the rear wiper since the plastic pin was so tight. Even insert the new one is also hard. I cannot believe GM has designed and made it so hard compared to other GM cars. It would have been better if the rear wiper is designed like the front wiper with universal U hood.

The arm looks a bit different and the Acadia blade is 10". I wonder if it would fit.

Need to replace the rear wiper blade on our 11. The rubber is torn so time for a new one. Wish me luck.

Having to remove the entire assembly to change out the blade is like having to remove the entire engine to change out an oil filter, completely ridiculous. The engineers much have just been to a Jimmy Buffet concert.

It was a bit of a chore on the 07', but got it done. Now, with the 14', I wonder if still the same hassle. :banghead:

Wife left the hatch open and drove out of the the garage. Yeah yeah i know. Anyways, broke the arm and a piece of the trim off the garage, but trunk is fine. No scratches or anythings. Question is how do you take off the remaining piece off after removing the nut. Is there a tool or puller i gotta buy?

Should be able to get it off with a little 'strategic (and careful) prying.'

My rear wiper arm was broken when I had it washed. I used a handheld label printer, put the strip on the arm "DO NOT LIFT" Also had to buy a "puller" from O'reilly auto parts. I have a 2009, was hoping there was a newer style arm I could get. :(

could we use one from a totally different like the Tahoe or something. If the mounting point is the same where bolts on to the car?
"Totally different" is the key to your answer!

Make sure you do this Mod too while your replacing your rear wiper Arms.

When I too broke my rear wiper arm I replaced the whole arm. Stupid design. Anyways, when I did I was looking at the old one and one thing that really picked me as the distance you could pull the rear wiper arm off the window.
After removing that little rubber thing, you can set the wiper off the window and wash it with ease! After almost a year of driving with this Mod, rear wiper still works just as well. I also set my home position up a little so that it wipes more of the back window when used.
