I must have done a piss poor job of looking for the spare, and the dealer never told where it is hidden. All he said was you can always call OnStar, and someone would be dispatched. Just out of curiosity, does the Acadia hold a spare? If so, would it be difficult the install and drive if all the others are outfitted with 19 inch wheels?

Re: Where is the spare tire located and impact on driving if other wheels are 19"?

Look under the rear of the car. Can't speak to how it would drive with 19's as I have the standard 18's on mine. Haven't had to use the spare yet and hope I never will. Storing the flat full size tire will be a PITA unless you have an empty trunk area.

The spare is located under the rear load floor on the outside. Look up from the ground beneath the rear bumper. It shouldn't make any difference if the wheels are 18 or 19 inch as they have the same overall rolling diameter.

There is an issue. They are not the same size (dia) After driving on the spacesaver for about 30 seconds the all whell drive and traction control shuts down.

According to the Tire Rack website, 2008 ACadia AWD:
Original Equipment Size 1: 255/65-18
Original Equipment Size 2: 255/60-19

When I spec these out on a tire size calculator:
http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

I see the following (18" on top, 19" below)
Stock Tire - 255/65R18
Tire 1 - 255/60R19

Section Width: 10.03 in 255 mm
Section Width: 10.03 in 255 mm

Rim Diameter: 18 in 457.2 mm
Rim Diameter: 19 in 482.6 mm

Overall Diameter: 31.05 in 788.67 mm
Overall Diameter: 31.04 in 788.41 mm

Sidewall Height: 6.52 in 165.60 mm
Sidewall Height: 6.02 in 152.90 mm

Radius: 15.52 in 394.20 mm
Radius: 15.52 in 394.20 mm

Circumference: 97.54 in 2477.5 mm
Circumference: 97.51 in 2476.7 mm

Revs per Mile: 669.8
Revs per Mile: 670.1

Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h
Speedometer1: 60.0 mph 100. km/h

Speedometer Difference: -
Speedometer Difference: 0.044% too fast

Diameter Difference: -
Diameter Difference: 0.04%

There is more variation in different brand tires of the same size than that. The wheel sensors would have to be very sensitive to detect a change this small. I don't have the specs on the spare, but it may well be more than .04%, which would account for the sensors detecting it.

BTW, the spare tire info is in the 2008 owner's manual starting about page 5-72.
