Hello Acadia owners,

I’m looking for shop recommendations on where I can take my 2009 Acadia SLT2 for a transmission flush in the Greater Toronto area.

Thanks in advance for your help

Check your manual to be sure a flush is recommended... I seem to recall flushes can cause problems.

Shops will use flush machines that use chemical cleaners.
GM considers anything other than Dex VI a contaminant.

Use a shop that uses a fluid exchange machine. Inserts new fluid while old is pushed out at the same time.
Thre is a post with instructions if youre willing to try yourself.
If you can change oil, you can do this.
IMO, I would stick to the dealer. Just had my 17‘ done last month. For piece of mind I didn’t mind the $279. US it cost. I was confident it would be done correctly and with the proper fluid. In the end it actually shifts much better Than it ever has. 41k miles.

How many miles? Has it been flushed in the past?

On older/high mileage vehicles that have never had transmission services, flushes sometimes do more harm than good.

They can dislodge bits of sludge that don't get flushed and end up being pumped into areas of the transmission where they wreak havoc.

The fluid change is an easy one. I would not flush. Just change the fluid every other oil change until you get that nice cherry red look. Then every 25K miles or so. Those trannys are expensive. Around $4800 or so at the dealer. You should keep it serviced.
