I have a 2008 Acadia -- took it to the shop and they did the Trans May 08 upgrade.
Took the Acadia on a 500 mile trip (with Adirondack Mtn driving to Canada) and found that with cruise control on when the vehicle rivs up to go up a hill -- it accelerates to above 3 rpm and then comes down to about 2.2 rpms but holds there a very long time instead of releasing downward when you on on level roadway.
The extra long hold above 2.2 rpms seems like a "strain" on the car ---
At this point I am not too happy with the "upgrade".
