I have an 08 acadia with the tow package and have a question. I am toawing a boat that has breakes and when you put the car in reverse it needs a signal to let the trailer back up without putting the breaks on. I bought an adaptor to go from the 5 pin on the trailer to the 7 pin on the acadia hoping this would work. well it didnt.. any suggestions, do I need to get the truck re-wired?

If you search in here on the towing threads you will find the bulletin that deals with the back up wire. The dealer has to connect the wire to make it active. Good luck.

Maybe, I just simply told them that the reverse wire for the Trailer 7pin wasn't working. They said they had to rewire it. Works now, Had they not taken care of it, I would have moved up the chain till I got to my friend in the upper management office with the dealership.

That was covered under warranty. What I missed was that you had the trailering package. I thought you got the new fuse block under warranty. My mistake.
