(1) James Black Cadillac (gmoutlet.com) - my dealer said they'll match this price
(2) 60 months / 90,000 miles
(3) $1240 + tax if applicable to your state
(4) GMPP Major Guard, $0 deductible
(5) Seems to be the best price around and were friendly when my wife talked to them.

Note that I waited until we were at 11,690 miles, and the vehicle was purchased Aug. 2010 (i.e., within 12 Months/12K miles for better pricing). The 60 months starts today, and would be good until 101,690 miles (whichever comes first).

Just traded 2009 SLT 1 with 26000 miles.
Had purchased a 4 year warranty GMPP $795
Tire and wheel 5 years-$449
They told me at trade I will be getting back money because they are prorated I could be getting 400-500 dollars back.

That was enough to pay for the tire and wheel on my new Denali lease!

Geico insurance offers a 7 yr. 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for about $7.00 per month if your car insurance is with them. It has a $250.00 deductible and can be canceled at any time. You must start the warranty when the car is purchased. It seems pretty straightforward. I started a claim on the steering problem on my Acadia and Geico was very good about following up on it and making sure the problem was resolved. It turns out that GM picked up the tab so Geico didn't have to get involved.

If I go to GM.com website, it recommends to ask your dealer where you purchased your vehicle for the extended warranty. The on-line warranty quote such as the one on http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com giving lower cost than my dealer. My question is that has anyone had any problem when repair your car at your purchased dealer with the extended warranty that you bought it online? Thanks.

hungtdao - if it's a GM-sponsored program, you shouldn't have a problem. You're just taking dealer profit out of the picture on the initial extended-plan purchase.

Just purchased and sent in the paperwork for a GMPP Major Guard Extended Warranty today.

We purchased our 2010 Traverse on May 29, 2010. I was offered the warranty at the time of sale but was told even if I waited, the policy would be effective from the in service date (purchase date) of the Traverse. Checking around I learned that was not true, and waited almost one year in order to extend the coverage and avoid 1 year of duplicate coverage with the factory Bumper to Bumper coverage.

Purchased GMPP Major Guard 84 months, 84000 miles, $0 deductible for $1615.00 plus $48.00 for using a credit card, bringing the total to $1663.00. If I had used cash, a check, a bank check, or a money order there would have been no additional $48.00 fee. Since this was purchased from an out of state dealer via the internet, there were also no additional taxes on the purchase.

I now have extensive coverage until 2018 or 89118 miles. My wife doesn't drive the Traverse much, and has only put 5118 miles on it at this point, hence the 84000 mile limit.

5. With this being the first American car I have owned and my in-laws all owning chevy, GMC products they have had from minor issues to transmission failure in the first 65,000 miles it was worth it for the piece of mind although I hope never to have to use it but if I do it is there.

Thanks for the information. The extra I’ve read, it noises like past models had certain issues (leaking sunroof, rear latch problems, etc.) that are now operated out in my 2010. Also, I keep reading that these defence plans are truly just fluff that the merchants want to sell you b/c it's easy money for them. i'm going to ditch all three protection plans and just get the GMPP extended warranty when i hit 12K or maybe even 36K, when the current warranty is up.

Re:

Any word on what deal I can get on an extended warranty for a 2014 Acadia with 18k miles we purchased last year? Also want to get one for the 2015 Traverse we purchased a few weeks ago. The selling dealer wanted 1300.

(1) James Black Cadillac Found online and called dealership up, (814) 472-9550 or web site, http://www.gmoutlet.com/gmeppfaq.html
(2) 60 months / 90,000 miles
(3) $1150 + tax if applicable to your state, no tax for me in NC
(4) GMEPP Platinum Guard, $100 deductible
(5) Best price I have found. It seems that the GMPP will only be by Allie and not a GM warranty but GMEPP is a GM warranty and is linked to all GM dealerships in their system where Allie will not be after July 1st from what I have been told.

I purchased this for my 2014 Cruze diesel, since the Acadia now has 83k on it and it wasn't worth the extra expense, I'm taking our chances with it. Keeping fingers crossed. :)
