So I just finished replacing the power steering pump on my 2016 AWD Acadia. I started to bleed the system by turning the wheel lock to lock and the the wheel just spins freely. The issue seems to be in the rubber boot coverd shaft under the car but on top of rack. Any thoughts on how to proceed with a repair?
Update:
I did some trouble shooting and found that when I lowered the engine cradle from frame to make room to remove old pump and replace new pump the lower steering shaft pulled out of the upper shaft. I lowered the cradle again and alined the two halves as best I could and then jacked up and bolted everything back together. Now I have two new issues. The first is the wheel is slightly out of alignment as apparently I didn’t merge them back at exactly as before. The other is that while the steering wheel was disengaged my helper free spun it until now there are warning messages for Air Bag, Traction Control, etc... I’m assuming he twisted some wires loose by turning the wheel continuously. Thoughts?
