My Steering wheel (column) will move side to side about 3-4 inches total. Dealer just called and said they had to order a new column. This was not a power steering issue, not a noise issue, just a loose wheel and column, I only had 3000 miles on my 08.

Has anyone else had this happen, and was the repair satisfatory? I am just worried now the dealer will never get the wheel straight again.

It actually got a little scary in turns.

This is the first time I have heard of this happening.

I would think that the dealer will have no problem getting the wheel straight again.

Well The Dealer replace the column and all is good for now. They said the retaining bolts had loosened, then cause the mounts to egg out, requiring and upper column replacement. Weird. And I got a computer reflash to help with the dummy lights of stabilitrack and traction control coming on.

we jsut had our steering column replaced. it made a clicking noise, not loose or anything, just some clicking. i would have guessed an intermediate shaft, but maybe the mounting holes elongated causing the clicking.
