Well, since it recently passed the 100k mile mark, and I have pretty much had everything else replaced............I went ahead and had the mechanic replace the vapor canister on the fuel evap on top of the gas tank.

Apparently that was the problem............I have not had one whiff of gas in the cabin or from the vents since!

That sounds plausible alright. Based on things you've said, the emission evaporative system was always a question.

Maybe a leak in the Evap Canister under the vehicle? Maybe check the tubes and connections to the canister to make sure one isn't loose or damaged? "
