Is the SLT-2 worth the extra money.....really?

Its up to you. Its all about your needs/wants.

Features shown below are in addition to SLT-1,
or in place of, SLT-1 features• Driver and passenger express up
and down power windows• Power adjustable, power folding,
heated outside rearview mirrors with
driver's side auto-dimming,
integrated turn signal and driver
side memory• Available heated and cooled seats
• 8-way power driver seat with power
recline and lumbar control, and
memory for driver seat and outside
rearview mirrors• 20" chrome-clad aluminum wheels

This all costs about $1600

I would pay that for the memory seats alone if I could do it again. :banghead:

Don't forget about trade-in value. The extra goodies help. The value of SLT-2 options doesn't add much to the monthly payment.

Thanks guys that does help me to put things in perspective. The trade in value is probably the item that's going to put me over the top for the SLT-2. And that's a very good point on the very slight increase of the monthly note when the cost is spread out over the length of the mortgage.

Are you ordering from the factory? If so it's a tough call. If not, it may come down to availability. I don't see too many SLT-2s around my area.

There are other options to consider though.

In my case I decided to get the SLT-1 but there were 2 options I wanted to pay extra for and get. I found one on the lot and drove it and loved it. It ALSO had the dual sunroofs, which I liked, but had not planned to paying for. But I figured what the heck.

So I ended up with an SLT-1 that had 3 options that I really liked. Costwise, closer to an SLT-2, but NOT an SLT-2 at resale. But the options can still be figured it at resale. If I ever sell it.

I'm really not sure what options I would like to have. I know I dont need or want the sunroofs. Not sure about AWD. But I know I would like the Bose audio.

What exactly were those 3 options? Was one of the options the AWD?

The options on the 2008s were likely different because things are now included that weren't etc.

BUT, I wanted the power liftgate and the backup sensors. Just those 2, plus the SLT-1. Got those and the sunroofs and rode away into the wildnerness......horizon.......sunset.......

I did get AWD as well but that decision kind of comes first before you choose SLT-1 or SLT-2 in my mind.

figure out what stuff you REALLY need- cant live without.
then the stuff you dont need...

then go look at the option packages- see witch one is closest.

This is what I did on my 2010 traverse-- looked at options- what I need- what I want to pay for- and what is stuff I can live without.
Do I really need leather-- no..
do i need sunroof no.
do I need Bose, no.
Do I need digital AC- no.
do I need DVD package- no.
DO I need seating for 8- yes.
do i need 20's- no,
do I need dual exhaust, no.
do I need trailering package- yes.
do I need remote start- yes
do i need bluetooth- yes.
do I need roof cross rails- yes
do i need camera- yes.
then I pick out my exterior color- my interior color-

I then went ahead and picked out an LT- and added the few yes items.....
went to chevy dealer- ordered the vehicle.
when it came in- paid cash--- no car payments for the next 200,000 miles or about 8 yrs.

in my mind-- no need to pay for the other stuff-- I dont need it......

in the meantime (8 yrs) I pretend I have a car note- and pay myself $$ every month

Nice approach. Is dual exhaust really an option on the Traverse?

The main reason I bought the SLT-2 was the cooled seats and the USB for our iphone. Well I like the chrome wheels also. OK I liked everything about the SLT-2.

Actually I like the dual rear "whip" antenna ports my 2010 SLT-2 came with, perfect addition to the bling wheels
