In a review of the new Audi Q7 in the Detroit Free Press today, it mentioned a new option called the Side Assist, which warns you when there is a vehicle in your "blind spot". Apparently, GM is going to add this to the Buick Lucerne. This seems like a good option that I'd like to have on the Acadia....just wondered what everyone thought of it. The Volvo S80 already has this. There have been some complaints of annoying false alarms. I would guess you can turn it off, but be careful what you wish for.

Features like this and lane departure warnings are going to become more common on upscale vehicles in the coming years. And then, 10 years later, these systems will actually work reliably and we'll start seeing them on mass market models!
