I just bought a 2012 Acadia SLT1. The key fob has a second lift gate button. I have no clue what it does. The middle lift gate button works perfectly as does the rest of the buttons. I just have no clue what the other button with a lift gate image does. I can’t find any information about it online.
Anybody know?
That second button appears to be for vehicles equipped with a power back glass lock, or open/close actuator. Neither is available on the Acadia - the back glass is stationary. Obviously, it's a universal replacement fob.
I see a number of after market FOBs on the usual websites that also have an extra button or two and claim to work with other OEM GM FOBs. I replaced one for another car years ago and it worked ok.
Just no function for the extra button.
The description shows it would be used for lifting the glass portion, the little icon shows glass up, door closed… whereas the other icon shows the entire tailgate/door lifted…
at least that’s how I see it based on the description…
