I have had the Michelin LTX M/S2 265/60R18 on the 2008 Acadia for about 3 days now. These tires are alot quieter and ride really well. Already driven in the rain and they handled well. I noticed that the Acadia is easier to turn with these tires (which makes parking easier). These tires should last 60,000 miles. Very pleased so far.

I had recently installed Michelin LTX M/S2 265/65/18 about two months ago and they have done very well. The new tires have performed very well. No clearance issues on my 2007 SLT there is still a finger width between the tire and fender well. I did notice the speed control and heads up display is off about 1 mph but not a big deal to me.

To 6soren99 and acadia_man08, any new issues to report with your different sized Michelins since your last post? I too have the Michelin LTX M/S on my Ford F-150 and love them. I definiately want to get rid of the OEM Goodyear Fortera 255/65-18 on my 07 Acadia but am having trouble deciding what new tire size I want to go to.
After refering to a tire size calulator it appears that the 60s are a 1/2 inch less in overall diameter and should not pose a clearance problem, whereas the 65s are a 1/2 greater in diameter.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Will the revolutions per mile effect the milage clock with a different size tire even if it's just a little?

#9 ·
Yeah any size difference will throw your mileage off, but not a noticeable amount. I mean, there will be a difference between new tires and worn-out tires too. Not a real big deal

I've been looking the last week at replacing my stock tires on my 07 Acadia and have been somewhat frustrated. I wanted the Coopers, but the best deal I can find on them here in AZ is $900 out the door. So I've been considering alternate sizes as a replacement. Using this calculator, http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html , it appears the 275-60-18 are the closest in size to the 255-65 that are on now. Firestone is currently running a promo of buy 3 and get the 4th free in their Destination LE Suv tire, but they only carry it in 265-60 and 265-65, but I can get either out the door for $700 or slightly less. Mixed reviews have me not real eager to try Firestone. Today I ran across the Michelin LTX A/S 265/60 R18 on sale for $110/each at http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop....265&Quer=60&Felge=18&weiter=0&kategorie=6&Ang_pro_Seite=15&Transport=P&dsco=135

This seems like a great deal, obviously the shipping and mounting charge would probably bring the total somewhere around $600 out the door. I'm wondering how these Michelins compare to the ones suggested in this thread, is the A/S an inferior tire to the M/S? Has anyone else replaced their stocks in AZ recently and what did you get?

I'm down in Tucson; not sure how far you want to travel for tires. I replaced my OEM's with Fortera's, but when those go I am thinking of the Cooper's in OEM size 18" wheels. I can search around if you like

I would be curious what kind of quote you get on them installed and out the door.

I'm looking for the Coopers, could only find them at Discount Tire here in the Phx area and they want $900 out the door. Some guy in the other thread said he just got them for $660, obviously he's in another state. I made some calls today on a few different tires, seems the Generals, which were my second choice, are on national backorder and nobody has them here.

That other guy is Geohawk; out newest mod :thumb:

Anyway I will look around and see what I can find on Cooper's

I have a 2007 Acadia SLE. At 46,000 miles, my Goodyear Fortera OE tires are done also. I am not pleased with their performance and certainly don't want to shell out $250 a tire for som toething that won't last as long as it is supposed. Dealer says they can't give me Goodyear tire warranty discount, but Discount tire will. So I am going with Discount tire, But I want a better tire. I am also looking at the Michelin p265/60R18. I hear it is a great tire and goes well beyond it's guarateed 60,000 mile warranty. It's been a few months since some of you have posted about this tire. how is it doing for you?

I just put some on mine on Monday. I like them alot. Mine were also done at 46,000. Discount Tire gave me 59.50 for each Fortera. Put the Michelin LTX M/S2 on $215 per tire. Total after taxes, lifetime balancing/mounting, TPMS, credit and $70 rebate (since the tires were suppossed to be here in January for the rebate) was $700.84.

I like the tires, but I have no real experience with the M/S2. I have had the M/S on my Honda Pilot since September. And had two sets of M/S on a truck for about 160,000 miles with no complaints. Hopefully, the M/S2 will be just as good.

for the guys that had the tires replaced--- did they torque down the lug nuts to 140 ft/lbs? or did they use their pneumatic tool ?

Sounds like you got a great deal. I'm assuming by your post that the Michelin rebate is no longer active. Can you tell me what you told Discount to get the credit on your Forteras?

I just told them that I didn't think that they lasted as long as they should have and if I could get any credit for them. They do it everytime for tires that I buy there, so I asked if they would do it for these as well.

Now, that is a nice tire dealer to know!! :thumb:

Another Michelin you might investigate is the Latitude Tour 265/60R-18. This tire has a really sweet tread design and should be very quiet with a long life. My Goodyears have 30k and are howling. I hate them, but they still have good tread left. Will likely replace this coming fall. Most places that sell Michelin don't recognize this tire size in the Latitude Tour, but will want to sell you the Latitude Tour HP. Don't let them to that, as the HP has no tread wear guarantee, and is a softer rubber compound. The Latitude Tour is available, as I called Michelin direct for an answer. The tire item number is 15891. I don't know a price, but expect it would be $200/tire. My current X Michelin LTs on my Silverado have 60k on them and have what appears to be another 30k to go. They are as quiet as the day I bought them.

2009 SLE, 56,000 miles on the original Forteras. Boy did those tires suck! I couldn't wait for them to wear out as they were loud, broke lose every chance they got and could not be balanced. The only good thing about them was the long mileage, I had 2-3k miles left on them when I finally changed out. I went with the Michelin LTX M/S2 P265/60 R18 on the advice of my tire guy. Couldn't be happier, it's like driving a whole different vehicle. They are quiet, handle well and have far better grip than the POS Goodyears. Pricey ($1200 out the door with road hazard) but worth it so far. I have over 2k miles on them now.

I'm curious, did you rotate the Goodyear's during their 56k miles? If so, how often. That is a surprisingly long life on a heavy vehicle.

I am seriously thinking of going with these Michelins as well. From what I can tell they will cost about the same as the Goodyears, and the last Michelin LTX M/S that I had on our Pontiac Montana are at 71,000 miles and STILL have considerable tread left (father-in-law bought our 1999 Montana).

If your interested Sears has their 265/65R-18 LTX MS2 Michelins on sale rigth now. If you buy 4 tires they will install them for free via a mail-in rebate and their tires are on sale for $189.05. True it's a mail-in but that means you can walk out with 4 tires for $786.64. In my opinion these would be the best tire you could but on the Acadia, I wish my tires were wore out so it could take advantage of this. Not sure how long this sale last.
