I need to purchase a new key fob for my 2008 slt 2 because it did not survive the blades fo my riding lawnmower. Is there a way to program the new one or does the dealer have to do it. I have remote start with no power lift gate. By the way we had funeral services for the key also. :banghead:

pg 101 of the Owners Manual

Matching Transmitter(s) to Your Vehicle

Each RKE transmitter is coded to prevent another
transmitter from unlocking your vehicle. If a
transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be
purchased through your dealer/retailer. Remember
to bring any additional transmitters so they can also
be re-coded to match the new transmitter. Once
your dealer/retailer has coded the new transmitter,
the lost transmitter will not unlock your vehicle.[/color] The
vehicle can have a maximum of eight transmitters
matched to it. See “Relearn Remote Key” under
DIC Operation and Displays (With DIC Buttons) on
page 233 or DIC Operation and Displays (Without
DIC Buttons) on page 239 for instructions on how to
match RKE transmitters to your vehicle.

I ordered key fobs part # 25839476 - $40.00 Each
Key - $20.00 Each. This was a few months ago in December so cost may have gone up.

$3 Shipping First class or $6 priority mail
(not a dealer)1-866-496-7190 ext. 1 - toll free.

I programed the fobs myself with instructions found in the owners manual. The keys were cut by a local locksmith.

If you got two new ones, did the directions show you how to match the code to your existing FOB's? or did you just get new ones and did not have any FOBs to match the code? There seems to be two steps if necessary - matching the codes so the FOBS match and then the re-learning of each fob as explained int he manual (this is easy to do).

Once the relearning is started all codes are erased to prevent theft. I have four key fobs, the 1st and 2nd codes control the drivers seats and all four control everything else. I do not remember the steps but do remember it was very easy.
