Re: Recalls & TSB Master List

THANKS ADMIN!!! came across this list a long time ago... forgot to post it though.
:thumb:

You will all notice the amount of TSB's is rather too many for a 2yr old vehicle ??? even if some are just cosmetics. and ALLDATA infos are straight from the service tech themselves.... thats why extended warranty is a must!!! ;D

Avalon:

The TSB's are technical service bulletins and they are all listed above in this post with number of the bulletin right next to it. Your car's manufacture date is located on the inside jamb of the driver's door. Look for the label.

Re: Recalls & TSB Master List

I could be wrong, but I think TSB are technical service bulletins that are to be used only if you have a problem. Your dealer most likely would not even consider doing them unless you had a problem related to one of them. Some dealers will do some TSBs (like the transmission shifting) a little more liberally, but generally, you will not get a TSB applied to your vehicle unless you have the problem it is addressing.

Like you stated some are cosmetic. Recalls and campaigns are the real issues. The other TSB's are issues people bring up when they come into the dealer. Isolated issues but put out in a TSB to help the few or many others it may affect.

Overall, 8 recalls/campaigns is not a big deal in 2(not full) models years. The truck has been out 1 calendar year.

It is the transmission flash, I just pulled my service invoice from the last visit and 07217 stated Reprogrammed TCM per recall 07217 (trans update).

I dont know about you, but 8 recalls/campaigns is a lot for a 1yr model considering the same model year from a different manufacturer (07 Ford Edge, 07 Mazda CX9, 07 Acura MDX, 07 Chrysler Aspen)..... not to mention the amount of TSBs which clearly justifies every problems posted in this forum and some that are not,

wheter its isolated or universal the fact is GM should make a better QA before any product gets out of the factory..... :help:
save them a lot financially on the long run and more happy consumers!!! ;D

Also take note, its the same as the Saturn Outlook.... for the Enclave we have to find out maybe 3-4mos from now.

i suggest all members should look into this VERY HELPFUL data and see wheter any current issues you have/had a TSBs or not.

Re: Recalls & TSB Master List

Be careful about reading into large TSB lists too much.

Some of the TSBs do not even apply to the Acadia...
01-07-31-002B NOV 06 M/T - Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding Procedure Improvement
and
03-07-29-004C AUG 06 M/T - Normal Operating Characteristics
We don't have manual transmissions.

And...
00-06-01-026B JUN 07 Intake Manifold - Inspect/Replace After Engine Damage
Which gives direction to the technicians to check this part if the engine has been damaged for whatever reason, even if some knothead owner overrevved it and grenaded the motor or screwed up an oil change, etc....

And...
06-03-10-010 SEP 06 Wheels - Changing Procedures/Precautions
Which starts off like this...
Just a few years ago, the increasing longevity of tires along with greater resistance to punctures had reduced the number of times wheels were removed to just required tire rotation intervals. Today with the booming business in accessory wheels/special application tires (such as winter tires), consumers are having tire/wheel assemblies removed -- replaced -- or installed more than ever. With this increased activity, it opens up more of a chance for error on the part of the technician. This bulletin will review a few of the common concerns and mistakes to make yourself aware of

TSBs are not necessarily problems.

The actual recall for airbag module applied to Acadia's between VINs 7J100107-7J119216 and Outlooks between 7J100001-7J119217. I could not locate the recall for the engine mounts (that's not to say it doesn't exist though). The listed campaigns only apply during the 3 yr/36K mile warranty and are limited to vehicles within certain VIN numbers as well.

Re: Recalls & TSB Master List

I just went to NHTSA and found TSB #07274 Trans update for 2007-2008 Acadia's.
I also found TSB #070525005 ABS update for excessive initialization noise.
Both are dated Nov 01, 2007
I am not sure if these were the updates I had done back in Oct 8th, 2007?

That seems like something new. I had mine flashed in Oct as well. Can anyone verify or confirm what these are?

#7274 (released November 2, 2007) is a follow-up TSB to remind the service techs to reprogram both the ECM and TCM in TSB 7217A (released September 20, 2007). Some service departments only reprogrammed either the ECM or TCM, but not both, resulting in funky odometer readings, etc. #7274 is not a new calibration. I've listed part of it below...

#07274: Customer Satisfaction - Transmission Software and Calibration Update - (Nov 2, 2007)

Subject: 07274 -- Transmission Software and Calibration Update

Models: 2008 Buick Enclave

2007-08 GMC Acadia

2007-08 Saturn Outlook

2008 Saturn Aura
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Condition
Certain 2007-08 model year GMC Acadia; Saturn Outlook; and 2008 model year Buick Enclave; Saturn Aura model vehicles were incorrectly reprogrammed by dealers/retailers in normal service and under Customer Satisfaction Program 07217A. The TCM (Transmission Control Module) and ECM (Engine Control Module) both must be reprogrammed with the updated software for correct odometer operation. GM TIS2Web Service Programming System records indicate some vehicles have had only one of the modules reprogrammed, causing incorrect odometer function if the vehicle is driven. Attached to the Administrative Message (US) / Dealer Communication (Canada), used to release this bulletin, is a list, in BAC (US) / Dealer Code (Canada) sequence, of those vehicles which only had one module reprogrammed and which our records indicate are still in your inventory.

Correction
Dealers/Retailers are to reprogram the stock vehicles listed using the Programming Sequence procedure to assure that both the ECM and TCM have the updated software. Vehicles which have accumulated mileage with only one of the modules updated must be programmed using the Programming Sequence and must also have the vehicle odometer reading corrected using the service procedure detailed in this bulletin.

Vehicles Involved
Involved are certain 2007-08 model year GMC Acadia; Saturn Outlook; and 2008 model year Buick Enclave; Saturn Aura model vehicles built within these VIN breakpoints:

#07-05-25-005: Excessive ABS Initialization Noise and/or Traction Control Sensitivity Improvement, Front Suspension Noise (Reprogram EBCM) - (Nov 20, 2007)

Subject: Excessive ABS Initialization Noise and/or Traction Control Sensitivity Improvements, Front Suspension Noise (Reprogram EBCM)

Models: 2008 Buick Enclave
2007-2008 GMC Acadia
2007-2008 Saturn OUTLOOK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Condition
Some customers may comment on excessive ABS initialization noise, which may be mistaken as front suspension noise. In addition, customer's of 2008 model year vehicles may comment on traction control sensitivity.

Cause
ABS Noise (2007 & 2008 Model Years)
The ABS unit runs diagnostic routines as soon as the vehicle reaches 15 km/h (9 mph). Some customer's may find the valve noise objectionable.

Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE EBCM OR SUSPENSION COMPONENTS FOR MISDIAGNOSED SUSPENSION NOISE.

Important: Prior to programming, you will need to know the following vehicle information:

• For 2007-2008 vehicles -- record the tire size the vehicle is equipped with.

• For 2008 mode year vehicles ONLY -- using GMVIS, determine if the vehicle is equipped with RPO NV7 -- Variable Effort Power Steering.

Reprogram the EBCM using TIS2WEB, SPS Pass-Thru method. Service calibrations have been released to reduce the noise emitted from the ABS module as it runs the diagnostic routine.

In addition, calibrations for 2008 model year vehicles contain additional software to reduce the traction control sensitivity.

I just had this done today and the dealer said that it did make a difference and I'll be picking up the car later today. We'll see how it sounds!

UPDATE: Just got the car back and it did make a noticeable difference in the ABS self check noise. I would suggest getting this done.
