I don't know the technical term for this part, See # 16 & #18 but does anyone know of a good way to keep the junk out of the grooves; besides stepping over it when getting into the car? I just spent 30 minutes going around each one with a wet cloth and a screwdriver to clean out the grooves. They can be popped out and soaked in warm water, but I'm afraid each time doing this might weaken the plastic rivets. These are 31$ parts!

thanks

I went to Advanced Auto, and bought a mat that fits from door to door. It was a cut to fit, for about $25. This was long enough to cover those areas, just check length before you cut as you can return it. This helps a lot. I don't remember how tight the groves are, but a toothbrush is usually good for cleaning them, without damaging them, just don't let the spouse catch you using hers.... >:D Good luck.
