Have the fob with you and walk toward the rear of the vehicle. You should see a light on the ground (GMC logo) beneath the rear bumper when you get close enough to it (~6-10 feet).
I haven't crawled under my back bumper to see how the logo light works, but is it possible that the distorted logo you're seeing is due to the light source being obscured by mud or dirt? So, bought my Acadia in May '21. Two weeks ago, this is what my projected logo looks like. A bit surprised that it didn't last better. I'll see what happens the next time I have it at the dealer.
On another note, has anyone ever tried to customize this to a stencil of their own choosing?

I’ve had my Acadia for about 5 months now. Mine did this also the other day after I went through my regular car wash with under carriage wash. I‘m guessing that the power spray did something like wear off the stencil like you suggested. I‘m rather disappointed, but maybe there is a way to fix it.Hey there! Thanks for the posts! Gotta say, it seems more like the paint is wearing off the stencil than dirt on the stencil. I have a lot of extra speckling above and beyond the GMC. Of course, let me say, I've never got down and looked at it. I'll do that this weekend and clean it as best I can. Let you know what I find. Thanks for the help!
The dealer's service department will do that for you at no charge if the vehicle is still within the B2B warranty.... I‘m rather disappointed, but maybe there is a way to fix it.

If it is staying on all night, either it is broken and you should have the dealer take a look at it or you are keeping your fob too close to the vehicle. Can the Projected Logo light be turned off and or does it drain the battery. Mine seems to stay on all night
Thank you i don’t think the key is to close but i will check. How long is it supposed to remain on after you walk away. This is my first vehicle with this option so i am new to it.If it is staying on all night, either it is broken and you should have the dealer take a look at it or you are keeping your fob too close to the vehicle.
It will turn off on its own even if the fob is close to the vehicle and the hands free function has not been used. I believe how it's supposed to work is explained in the owners manual.Thank you i don’t think the key is to close but i will check. How long is it supposed to remain on after you walk away. I revisited the owner's manual for my '21 Buick. The projected logo should go off within 20 seconds of the fob being out of range (15 feet).Thank you i will look through it again
Than you for your help.I revisited the owner's manual for my '21 Buick. The projected logo should go off within 20 seconds of the fob being out of range (15 feet).
In the personalization settings, you should have an option to turn of the hands free liftgate. Shutting that off, also shuts off the projected logo.
