Projected Logo on my new 2021 Acadia

I am picking up a new Acadia this coming week and have some of the RPO codes.
It has powerlift gate / handsfree which it says, but how do I know if the light comes on when
you approach the vehicle? The RPO code is TC2-liftgate, power, handsfree. Thanks

Have the fob with you and walk toward the rear of the vehicle. You should see a light on the ground (GMC logo) beneath the rear bumper when you get close enough to it (~6-10 feet).
So, bought my Acadia in May '21. Two weeks ago, this is what my projected logo looks like. A bit surprised that it didn't last better. I'll see what happens the next time I have it at the dealer.

On another note, has anyone ever tried to customize this to a stencil of their own choosing?

I haven't crawled under my back bumper to see how the logo light works, but is it possible that the distorted logo you're seeing is due to the light source being obscured by mud or dirt?

Post is a bit old, but he may be watching.
Pretty likely what you said. When it starts getting dirty around town (winter stuff), I wipe my rearview cam (and my wife's 4 cams) off every day or 2 before I head to work.
Hey there! Thanks for the posts! Gotta say, it seems more like the paint is wearing off the stencil than dirt on the stencil. I have a lot of extra speckling above and beyond the GMC. Of course, let me say, I've never got down and looked at it. I'll do that this weekend and clean it as best I can. Let you know what I find. Thanks for the help!

I’ve had my Acadia for about 5 months now. Mine did this also the other day after I went through my regular car wash with under carriage wash. I‘m guessing that the power spray did something like wear off the stencil like you suggested. I‘m rather disappointed, but maybe there is a way to fix it.

The dealer's service department will do that for you at no charge if the vehicle is still within the B2B warranty.

Jennifer,

Thanks for making the connection with the car wash. I also do the under carriage wash and that is probably how mine happened! I am going to have my dealer take care of it next time I'm in.
Can the Projected Logo light be turned off and or does it drain the battery? Mine seems to stay on all night.

If it is staying on all night, either it is broken and you should have the dealer take a look at it or you are keeping your fob too close to the vehicle.

Thank you i don’t think the key is to close but i will check. How long is it supposed to remain on after you walk away. This is my first vehicle with this option so i am new to it.

It will turn off on its own even if the fob is close to the vehicle and the hands free function has not been used. I believe how it's supposed to work is explained in the owners manual.

I revisited the owner's manual for my '21 Buick. The projected logo should go off within 20 seconds of the fob being out of range (15 feet).

In the personalization settings, you should have an option to turn of the hands free liftgate. Shutting that off, also shuts off the projected logo.

Than you for your help.
My logo has become progressively worse, so I suspect it is the undercarriage wash. I certainly doesn't seem like it would be dirt. The missing parts of the logo are white. If dirt, then I would expect the missing parts to be black.

Now that the logo is not there, there is a part of me that has begun to wonder: Can I put my own tiny image on there and have THAT show up on the ground? It's on my list to try....
Having the Issue of the Projected Logo washing out and going blotchy. When new the "GMC Logo" was just the Bold Letters. After 8 months there is a fuzzy lighted circle around the "GMC Logo" and numerous blotchy spots, it's fading out. The dealer is saying this is normal. I don't see why this should be washing out and going blotchy. Water spray should not cause this unless water is getting behind the projector lens. Can anyone advise what their experience has been with their dealers? Has the Projector been replaced/covered under the B2B warranty?
