I have a 2017 Acadia that I bought new 10 months ago. Had the oil changed three times, the tires rotated twice, and the last time my tread depth was shown at 3's and 4's, relatively even, but very close to worn out and likely won't pass my one year inspection- and I've driven 16k miles with no hard driving at all. Local dealer says they can't help, dealer I bought it from says they can't help but to call Michelin, GM's new vehicle tire warranty group said they issued a 'Bulletin' making dealers aware of the premature wear and tear problem with Michelins on '17 and '18 Acadias, but with no required action. Tried calling Michelin for two days now, but their 800 # lists a recording that they're having technical difficulties and to call back. Called GMC customer service and they said it's not their problem, despite the bulletin which they acknowledge.

Anyone else having a similar problem? Were you able to resolve this effectively?

There must be others if they issued such a bulletin. Every contact I've had with GMC to date has been great, except for this. But everyone I talk to at GMC is pointing me to someone else.

I have the same EXACT problem. Took it to the dealer at 17K miles and they give me a quote to replace the tires. Dealer says tires installed are soft rubber tires that provide better grip but wear out early. So now are consumers supposed to replace tires every 17K miles. RIPOFF. This is a class action lemon suit waiting to happen.

Has anyone got this resolved either through GM or Michelin?

Sorry for the tire wear. . . . but not a class action law suit.
Too many factors from driving style, tire inflation, cornering, etc that are driver oriented variables.

I had the same issue with my tires. I took it to Discount Tire, and they gave me $50 / tire discount and chased the warranty for me. I replaced them with the Michelin Defenders and I love them. 15k and the manufacturing teats are not yet worn off! I'm running the 18" version. Better ride and less rim damage from curbs.

Just switched over to winters yesterday, for the second time. Total of 16K Kilometers (less than 10K miles), of which around 5 months of 15 would have been winters already.
So in around 6500 miles my tires measure between 6/32 and 7/32
Seems low to me...

My mother's 2012 Elantra has 12K on it and needed the tires replaced. Pressure maintained, even wear, etc. If she drove any more conservatively, the car wouldn't be moving. Sometimes OEM tires just don't have good life.

Out of curiosity, what is the mfg and model of the tires. You can look up what the tire is rated for, for what it is worth. I had an 07 and then a 14', and the OEM tires replaced at 40,000 with still some tread life left. I go into WI winter and will change earlier, to be more safe. The other thing, I always kept the tires at 40-42 psi cold, year round in WI climate. Current vehicle is the same psi. If you replace, I would suggest the Michelin Defender LTX M/S, for an all climate tire with looong tread life.

We've had 7 new GM vehicles in the family since 2005 and the OEM tires all lasted at least 35K to 45K miles depending on the vehicle. I would replace them when tread depth got low and even do it early if snowy winter driving was upcoming.

I won't embarass you by stating mileage I get out of tires. LOL Looks like you're on track to get ~30K miles out of the Michelins before they become MAY POPS. Do you drive a lot on roads with many twists and turns? That makes a difference in tire wear, regardless of your driving style.

Mine are the title tires; Michelin Premier LTX
Tread wear indicates I'm a tiny bit high on my tire pressures. My dash is always on the tire pressure, update it as temps change every couple months. And yet my middle tread area is if anything a tiny bit more worn than the outer tread, so I personally would recommend the factory tire pressure rating only if checked when vehicle is not adjusted to cold mornings, as it gets too high through the day. Just my experience. Maybe I did let it get too high thru the summer though... will stick to 36PSI for now.

Wouldn't embarrass me, no concern there. This is about premature wear on this specific tire, and my findings are the same as a few others. I wonder if 30K miles will even happen TBH. No more twists and turns than most I would think...
What is MAY POPS BTW?

I had to replace mine at 49k which I didnt think was bad. Compared to alot of people who got less than 20k I will count my lucky stars that I dodged another GM bullet and remain a happy purchaser!!!!

My 2019 Acadia Denali has the 20" Michelin Premier LTX tires on it. Currently I have 18,500 miles on them with no sign of premature wear. I keep an eye on the tire pressure and rotate them (different tires to different corners - not just around and around), at each oil change. I've not had problems with them or the Michelin Latitude that were on my Trail Blazer. Just my opinion, but it won't even get you a free cup of coffee.

Same issue with my 2018 Denali at 29K miles. Recommendation for good grip low noise replacement for Dallas driving?

The Michelin "Primacy Tour" may meet your requirement.

I have 20" (235/55/R20) Michelin Premier LTX on my 2018 AWD Denali. I have 20,500 miles driving on the tires plus an additional 11,500 miles of dinghy / flat towing behind an RV.

I knew these tires were not holding up very well and I was planning on replacing them within the next year. I went out and looked at them yesterday and found all 4 tires were showing signs of "tire chunking" on the outside edges. The left front was pretty bad and the other 3 were just getting started.

I did not really expect Michelin to offer any help on replacing the tires, but decided to call them anyway. They answered the phone promptly, gave me a case number, and asked me to take it to a dealer for inspection. I ended up going to 5 different Michelin dealers before I found 1 that was willing to inspect my tires an actually submit a warranty claim to Michelin. Much to my surprise, Michelin offered me a 75% credit on the purchase of new tires. I ended up getting 4 new Cross Climate 2's for $55 each vice the normal price of $221 each. Total price out the door with installation, balance, disposal and taxes was $360.

I had my heart set on a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 and am a little disappointed that I will not get a chance to try them out anytime soon. However, I could not say no to the Michelin Cross Climate 2's at the price they offered.

NTB (National Tire & Battery) inspected my tires this morning and completed the installation of my new replacements at 6:00 pm on the same day. I thank Michelin for standing behind their product. I thank NTB for their great customer service and doing what 4 other dealers would not do. I hope that I am happy with the new Cross Climate 2's.

I'm new to the Forum as I just got my new Acadia a few weeks ago. We bought the Acadia new for the wife in Mar 2018 and she has never really liked it. It is a bit big for her and the driver side A pillar and mirror create a blind spot for her. We just bought her a new 2021 Equinox which she really likes and the Acadia is now all mine!
