I am trying to pull power from the sun visor so I can feed 12 volts to my garmin gps and also the monitor for my backup camera. I tried poking around the light modules but the exposed wires are only hot when the mirror is open. The mirror seemed pretty well glued to the visor so my next plan was to tap into the wiring harness that feeds the visor. After popping the round cover of the visor arm and removing three torex screws....I still can't remove the visor. There appears to be two plasic tabs that may hold it in place but after wedging in screwdrivers....they still won't release. A search of google didn't help too much. In some cars you have to rotate the visor parallel with the door to get it off....didn't work with my acadia.

As I just said in my backup camera thread. I am probably going to look for power from the Onstar wiring harness.
