P0449 on 2007 Acadia **solved**

I have a 2007 Acadia SLE w/ AWD and 133k miles. The check engine light came on and it set a p0449 DTC. I read a few posts on the board and decided to start by replacing the Vapor Canister Purge Valve (AC Delco 214-1685) since it was cheap and easy to get to. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem so I think I need to replace the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid.

Does anyone know what the AC Delco part number would be?

Re: P0449 on 2007 Acadia

Rockauto.com doesn't list an AC Delco option but when I searched GMPartsDirect.com, it showed that the AC part numbers I'd need would need are:
20907779 (canister valve solenoid)
19257603 (wiring harness adapter)

The weird thing is that Rockauto sells both parts. Not sure why it doesn't list them for the Acadia. Anyone know why or have any experience with this repair?

I've replaced the gas cap, vapor canister purge valve (under the hood), and the canister valve solenoid (on top of gas tank) but still no luck. Anybody have any other ideas?
Did you clear the code?

Found 2 damaged wires in harness from gas tank to connector-plug under driver's door (something must've kicked up from road and sliced through wire loom). Repaired wires, cleared code, and it seems to have solved the problem.

this connector?

if so.... that connector will cause

Engine is hard to start • Engine will not start • Engine starts, then stalls • Fuel gauge is inoperative or fluctuates • Service Engine Soon/Check Engine light is illuminated

RB, why does the connector in the pic appear partially unplugged?

Inoperative Fuel Gauge and Hard Start/No Start Condition
June 18, 2012

Some 2008-2012 Enclave, 2009-2012 Traverse, 2007-2012 Acadia and 2007-2010 Outlook models may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:

• Engine is hard to start • Engine will not start • Engine starts, then stalls • Fuel gauge is inoperative or fluctuates • Service Engine Soon/Check Engine light is illuminated

These conditions, which may be intermittent and have various DTCs set, may be due to the fuel tank harness to body harness retainer slipping on the tubing, putting pressure on the harness and causing connector X305 to become partially separated or not fully seated. (Fig. 13)

Inspect connector X305 to make sure that it is fully seated. If the connector is not fully seated, inspect the terminals at connector X305 for corrosion. If the terminals show signs of corrosion, replace the corroded terminals.

Remove the wire harness retaining clip from the steel lines (Fig. 14, Position 1) and reposition it in front of the steel line support to prevent it from sliding. (Fig. 14. Position 2)

That was posted long ago, I believe. :)

Now, warbiz needs to figure out how to get pics to show in his posts! ;)

Search the 'net for "(insert year) acadia fuel tank wiring harness" and go shopping from the results.
