After a few weeks of lurking, posting and several test drives, we finally ordered our Acadia on Friday. (and will cancel our previous Ford Edge order on Monday)

For those interested in the details, it is a Red Jewel SLT-2 FWD with titanium interior, sunroof, navigation and trailering.

It will be my Wife's primary vehicle, but I can't wait for it to be delivered and to start participating more on this forum.

By way of introduction and background, I've been running a similar site for Ford F-150 owners since 1996 called F150online.com (http://www.f150online.com) and find sites like these to be an incredible and indispensable resource.

I also plan to track and share the details of my Acadia, like fuel economy, ownership costs, maintenance, etc. on my other property, Ownersite.com (http://www.ownersite.com). (mods, if this link is considered commercial and inappropriate, please feel free to remove it)

Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Re: Ordered our Acadia and introduction!

ownersite, welcome aboard and congrats on the new ride! While we didn't test drive the new Edge (we needed 3 rows of seats), it's a nice looking crossover but I think you're going to be thrilled with this thing. Two weeks for us so far and we absolutely love it!

As for the link, as long as it's not spam/porn and benefits Acadia owners (or even automotive enthusiasts in general), I have no issues with it whatsoever. Can't wait to hear your input!

Congrats on taking the plunge. If you have time after you receive your vehicle, post some pictures on here so we can go 'ga-ga' over it!!

Got Mine!

After 3 months of immersing myself in Acadia related material, I am now the proud owner of a GMC Acadia!

We purchased a Blue Metallic SLE for $1,000 over invoice minus the $1500 rebates, and got the 0% for 36 months. It was a better deal than the supplier price minus only $500. They wouldn't come off the price any more.... but my wife is happy with her new car.

Although we wanted a a SLT1 with several options, my wife decided that the SLE was actually very nice for a base model, and she could do without the leather seating and options. So, she got the color and car she wanted, and I don't pay one red cent in finance charges!! ;D

The local dealership has lost another Acadia

This one is white, ebony interior, AWD, SLT-1.

The wife and I picked it up this evening. If I'm lucky, I'll get to drive it next week ::)

It's her primary vehicle so we will finally retire her 1999 Buick LeSabre which served us well. We now own two GMC's, the new Acadia and a 1999 GMC Sierra with 180,000 miles on it.

If I can, I'll get some pictures for everyone on Wednesday. I had the salesman check with the service dept. for any recall notices or software updates. There were none he was aware of.

I am really impressed. I thought we were going to buy the Saturn but after seeing the Acadia, we are sold. We bought it sight unseen. She told the salesman the colors she wanted and he located it then did the transfer. I really like the way the interior and exterior are trimmed. Very stylish looking. It's funny the way a vehicle color can change the whole personality of the vehicle. I didn't think I would like the white or ebony but have changed my mind.

Re: The local dealership has lost another Acadia

OK, so I did get to drive it around the block when she got home :D

I set all the XM/Radio presets for her that I thought would interest her and changed the clock to reflect the local time. I also tried up the backup sensor thing. I backed it up to a chain link fence and it worked great. I got one red dot and two yellows and was within about three inches of the fence. Pretty good since that is a relatively porous object. I'm sure we'll find out more about it but so far so good.

My local dealership has not lost their new one yet, but when it comes in, it's leaving with me!! supposed to be in this friday, but i'm not holding my breath.

very similar to yours pelle31; carbon with ebony, dvd, nav, hud, hid, rear audio, sunroof, and 19's. i can't wait to see it. when we test drove one a week ago, everytime we stopped we drew a crowd to inspect the one we had.

yes. it's awesome watching the people looking at your car. that doesn't get old.

Only time I had that previously is when my brother allows me to drive around in his C6 ;D admittedly a different kinda look though 8)

Got Mine Yesterday!

Picked up my Acadia yesterday. Or, I should say my WIFE'S Acadia, as she'll be the primary driver. SLT-2, Carbon Metallic with Ebony Leather interior.

It took a while to locate one that had everything we were looking for. (Well, ALMOST everything. It doesn't have the HUD which I LOVED during the test drive, but I had to sacrifice that in order to get the color my wife wanted.)

It's without a doubt the nicest vehicle we've ever owned. In fact, it puts my friend's Mercedes crossover SUV to shame.

My ONLY complaint...XM instead of Sirius. But since they've announced that they're merging, my hope is that by 2008 that won't be a big deal. XM has a nice selection of channels but lacks personality. So, I guess, for a while anyway, we'll be subscribing to both.

We're taking a road trip this weekend to put this bad boy through its paces!

Re: Got Mine Yesterday!

congrats! Nice color too ;D

and the SIR-GM1 won't work with the Acadia but according to something posted in the Tech Center (I think) of this site, they'll have a module out in June/July for the GM LAN. I plan on getting it and making the switch
