Hello, after reading all the different threads regarding the aftermarket installations, it seems pretty easy to do this install myself. However, if anyone might know the answer to the following questions, please post here!!! Thank you.

1) The wiring harness that comes with the Pioneer unit gets replaced by the GMOS-LAN-02 unit? Where does the black module go? Just somewhere left inside or does it need to be mounted somewhere?

2) Will I retain steering wheel volume control?

3) Will I retain cruise control?

4) Crutchfield is telling me I need antenna adapter, so just take the antenna from the car, plug in one end of the adapter to the existing antenna and the other end of the adapter to the Pioneer unit?

5) GPS antenna seems pretty easy to fish thru the dash.

6) I want to run an A/V wire from the overhead (aftermarket) DVD player to the Pioneer unit. Simply connect to the appropriate AV input of the A/V wire harness?

Anything else to consider???

Thank you!!

Welcome to the forum.

Did you buy the unit from Crutchfield? They are among the best for support I have seen when I've dealt with them. You may find answers more quickly from them.

I did a search for recent threads with Pioneer in the AV section here and found this thread:

You should PM member Scott Seely since he has a similar radio in his vehicle, although it sounds like he had it installed.

EDIT
Also check this thread:

There is some discussion of the GMLAN adapter.
