i have a 2016 Acadia Denali AWD and i was driving the other day and on the dash it said "All Wheel Drive off" then when i started the car again it stopped giving me that warning. does anyone know how to turn AWD off and back on again consistently? because i have only been able to get it to turn off after messing around with the emergency brake.
any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum.
There is no way to manually disable AWD. Check the connection between the viscous coupler and AWD module beneath the car at the rear of the torque tube. Make sure it's free of any corrosion and is plugged in properly.

weird because when the dash said All Wheel Drive Off only the front tires would engage and after a few miles it would disappear and the AWD would work again

I was looking through the manual and saw there is a AWD fuse so i would assume that is how i would disable it

What effect would that have on other drive train programming? It's not the same as simply flipping the switch on a pre-programmed control panel.

not sure thats why im asking
I guess, then, that it's something you should do and report the results back to the forum. No one else is going to do it for you. You can pull the fuse while you're out trying to kill yourself from all the 'booling' and flying your vehicle.
