I think your 2020 has integral LED headlights than may not be easily replaced.
Check with a GMC dealer.

when ever you need help on common repairs/disassembly, try youtube first. Found this that says its up to 2020 model, but he is working this vifdeo on a 2017.
I cant say if its accurate. My 2021 has integral LEDs

So look at this and see if it matches your car.

It's doubtful brighter lights will be any help.

 

I have a 2019 which may be similar. The dust covers were rubber "boobs" that just pulled off. In any event, I agree with your observation that the factory bulbs suck. I changed mine to LED's and couldn't be happier. I posted all of that on this forum so if you search hard enough you might find it. If you don't, come back to me and I will give you all of the details. I got everything from Amazon and it wasn't terribly expensive.

Headlights are not similar. Change took place with the 2020 model refresh.

 

When I get around to it, Im gunna ask the dealer if they've had complaints and if there are options. Doubt it. And I'm not paying 700 bucks for a replacement headlight anyways. We will just deal with it. It's just annoying.

 

You could try aiming the headlights for better light pattern.
