Has anyone here replaced the LLT engine with a LFX?

LLT engines are expensive and hard to find with less than 100k.

LFX engines are cheap and a improved design..

If it is only a matter of modifying the exhaust and other minor things, it seems like the way to go. Unfortunately I haven't found any posts from someone who has done it.

Anyone try this?

Got a 2011 traverse with spun bearings, definitely going the LFX route. the exhaust in the vice, is this a combination of the stock cat and a new flange for the LFX ?
with a section of pipe welded in between. just getting a list of what I will need.

The LLT intake will not fit he LFX. It hits the cam covers before it touches the heads, and the ports are not an exact match. The LLT pump, injectors, and rails will work on the LFX, but you have to grind material from one intake port to make room for the high pressure sensor. Yes. I spent some time fabbing up the exhaust system using parts from the 2012 Lacrosse and the 2010 Acadia. Now the insides of one catalytic converter is rattling. I plan to delete the cats and tune off the downstream oxygen sensors with hptuners. The exhaust system is the most difficult part of the swap.
While you're in there tuning, turn off the engine side of the torque management but leave the transmission side alone. I'm finding wot pulls when it gets to 4th gear it pulls back because of the extra power. I remember one person saying they turned off the torque converter lockup in all the lower gears and only allowed it in 5th and 6th and picked up fuel economy and responsiveness. Yes I know it's not a hotrod

Yes. I'm primarily a transmission rebuild shop. I have a friend tune all of my jobs. The 6T75 benefits from a few small programming changes, as does the 6L80.

Us +2017 owners sure could benefit from some transmission tune.
Worst shifting GM 6 speed I've ever had since 2015 Equinox with the LFX/6T70 drive train.
That at least shifted as expected with no lurching or 2-3 shift flare.
I am looking at a 2012 impala LFX seems like the LFX in the 2012 impala (old body style) has the intake inlet coming off the right or Flywheel side, the newer LFX in the 2013 and up impala has it on the left or crank pulley side. is there anything to look out for ?
That's the same year engine I used. Upper intake is useless to you. Are you looking at a u pull yard or full service?
If it's a U Pull look around for a 3.0 or 3.6 terrain upper intake and throttle body and just bolt it to the Impala engine since you're paying for an entire engine anyway
I like the Impala engines simply because it's usually much older people who drive them and they're generally lower mileage and dealer serviced.

It's some guy with a bunch of busted impalas he has for parts. Will let me hear it run before I get it. It does have the flange and part of the exhaust but cat is cut off.

What all did the LFXs come in? You guys should video your next swap. I also have a 2011 Acadia Denali. did you swap yours?
Are the terrain catalytics a bolt in fit with an LFX in a traverse. Or would the y pipe need modifications to meet them. Considering going this route to make it more "factory" looking. eBay has sets of knock off ones for $250 total. I could probably sell the stock ones to get some money back. Has any one used them ?
Is it easier to do the exhaust fabbing before putting the LFX in ? I picked up a 2012 Impala LFX for $400 today 120k
In the middle of an lfx swap on a 10 Acadia. Has anyone found a better option for exhaust? I looked at an Impala y-pipe and converters. The rear converter and pipe routing looks like it won’t work in the Acadia. Front subframe looks a lot different. Has anyone laid eyes on a terrain or equinox y pipe? Any chance they’re closer to a bolt on?

See post #19 in this thread.
Says get the exhaust with the LFX engine. It saves a lot of headaches.

Yes it will work. Try to get the exhaust with it to save you some grief
The Impala with the lfx I looked at was routed considerably different than the terrain and equinox. The rear cat and y- pipe are different and don’t look like they will work. I have equinox cats and y-pipe ordered. I’m hoping they’ll go right on without modifying.

Update for anyone that finds this thread. The equinox doesn’t fit any better. I am going back to fabricating pipes to adapt my original Acadia catalytic converters and y-pipe to fit the lfx engine.
