( Not sure what to make of this - so Ill move on) Third - No details Other than my car just burst into flames for no other reason than to burst into flames (Umm Whatcha doing in that shed Batman - I want some) Fourth - Are you the original Owner or did you get this as part of a “you owe me bro” transaction. (I’m running out of stuff) Fifth- I give up...I could go on for hours picking this apart. I mean what in the I wanted to burn car but I got High did I actually read up there. Pics please, police and Fire Marshall Reports and Insurance Report please. Good Luck

Here's what you all are saying about something so serious. I hope the pictures show you what could happen to someone else. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary for this to happen to me but many of you think it's a joke, scam or some other bull instead of taking this serious. I am only putting this out here to hopefully save a life, liver & home. Just imagine if had parked it in my garage. Everything isn't a joke to not be taken seriously.

All I’m saying is your car didn’t spontaneously combust, someone set fire to it

I don't think anyone thinks this is a joke, or that it's not serious. What some are saying is that it looks suspicious, and for the most part you are not responding to questions that may reduce the suspicion.
What did the police say?
What did the insurance adjustors say?
It appears that someone set the vehicle on fire.
Edit; in other words, reporting this to GM is pointless.

it

Did there's no evidence of someone starting this fire. There are others who have their vehicle catch fire. They said it was possible a gas leak that could have caused the fire.

The fire was not determined what caused the fire. It did start on its on & not set a fire. I live on a busy street that cars pass by my house all through the day & night.

One other possibility is rodents or some other animal took refuge and chewed through wire insulation. Often times mice, a chipmonk, squirrel or other animal will take nesting material under the hood and engine compartment. Then they chew through nearby wiring. If a powered wire happen to touch another or ground then a fire could ensue.
I'm inclined to think that is maybe what occurred since the fire did not start till many hours (3 to 5 ?) after it was last running.
I've had that happen twice to cars parked outside, but no fire resulted, however wires were chewed through and nesting material was found.
Parking outside invites critters especially if in a wooded or semi rural area.

I also see a lot of dead leaves on the ground. Possible leaves dropped into the cowl area and under the hood, top of engine, etc. If debris had built up under the hood, on top of the engine, nooks and crannies, then a smoldering slow burn could have started. Leaves and dry material could also have piled up on parts of or near the exhaust system and ignited hours later.
Who knows?

Possible a gas leak they said…car would have to have been running under extremely hot conditions for the leaking fuel to ignite, and fuel pump would have to be on to continually feed the fire.

Someone dumped gasoline on the wiper cowl and windshield.

This war is going on near where I live, they are all started by pouring gasoline on the wipers and lighting it on fire, and suspiciously is exactly how your car has burnt.

You still haven't answered the main questions. Did you have comprehensive insurance on the vehicle and what were you expecting from GM?

I also live on a busy street. If someone wants to set your vehicle on fire that does not matter. Someone set my neighbor's car on fire in broad daylight. Fortunately most every neighbor has some sort of video doorbell.

Takes all of 3 seconds to throw a water bottle of gasoline and light it and walk away, and you parked behind your house away from spectators

So if your car had a gasoline leak bad enough to burn:

A. You would have smelt it
B. It would be running rough, if at all due to the lack of fuel going to the engine
C. Gasoline ignites at 536F without a spark
D. The hottest part of the exhaust, your catalytic converters, which can be 300f to approx 900F ONLY WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
E. If you had a fuel leak, your converters would be significantly cooler due to the lack of fuel being burnt.
F. If you parked your car at ~9ish pm and the fire started at ~3-4am, your car would be at ambient temperature and therefore no part of your car would be hot enough to ignite the leaking fuel.
G. If it was electrical, the battery behind the passenger seat would also have exploded/caught fire.

Yes I did. All I can state to anyone the SUV caught fire & the debris didn't have anything to do with it. The suv is on the back of the house & no door bell in the back. Well no one & I repeat no one set this SUV on fire. If you Google it you find where others have fire damage that started by itself or burned up.

I just wanted to make them aware of this matter. This is a dangerous & serious matter to leave to chance. The fire could've started by the windshield wiper motor. They have a recall for that stating it could cause a fire. There are so many things that could be but If I don't make them aware of it then I would feel bad.

That recall only applied to the 2016 model year, and it’s not GM’s fault if the customer doesn’t bring their car in to have the recall completed

So verdict is in....my mother is a fire marshal and looked the pictures you provided as well as your narrative. Red Flags everywhere. In her opinion, insurance fraud or the likes. Someone hit the nail on the head, 2 fires set - one on top of the motor and one inside of the vehicle. Cars are never burnt beyond a cause, only for the cause Of hiding the fire. Cars just dont burn for no reason. Definitely not after sitting for several hours. 2 things are needed for any fire. 1 an accelerant and 2 a spark. So here is the million dollar question that is important. Where is the fire dept and police report. Every suspicious fire is looked into but the fire Marshalls office. Can you provide those. No one thinks this is a joke or anything other than a serious matter. You are warning of us an impending fire with no real explanation of cause. Just hey be careful, you car may or may not burn any day of the week, month or year. So yes, we all need answers because a car that just bursts into flames could burn a house down with a family inside. See what I am saying, this is very serious. Did you call 911? Did they or you put out the fire. You have to see by now that there are so many more questions than answers. So please, just give it to us straight.

I would like to see the report on any wiper motor burning a car like that after the ignition was turned off, key removed, three hours later. Wiper motors don’t have any power when the ignition is off. If i am wrong I apologize but this is my belief.
