Did anyone buy this plan that GM sends out? It looks like it doesn't kick in until after your warranty runs out.

They list all the costs of fixing stuff like:

Air conditioning = $1,198
Fuel Tank = $1,044 (I've NEVER replaced a fuel tank on any care I've own)
Sunroof = $1,214
etc ...

So if I choose their cheapest base plan at $99/month. After five years I've paid them $6,000 dollars ... ;)

Um, no thanks.

Has anyone else bought this plan? If so I'd like to hear why?

I've had GM Protection Plans, but have never heard of one as costly as that.

The offer I had for my Acadia was 10% up front and 15 monthly payments at zero percent. Total ranged from $900-1400 total based on the time/mileage coverage selected. You are correct that it covers the time period after the 3/36 factory warranty expires.

PS Once upon a time, I had to replace a fuel tank :-\

I got a mailer recently for warranty and it appeared at first glance to be from GM but was not. Buyer Beware.

Truly.

The safest way would be to go to www.gmpponline.com so you know you're getting the real deal.
