I thought I saw a video of someone inspecting the flex plate via a small hole... hmmm let me see if I remember correctly

Unfortunately I cant find the video. Disregard my comment. Maybe it was for the Terrain/Equinox/ Trailblazer.

found the video.. but I guess I was wrong
I remember it was real close to transmission. I remember seeing what looked like teeth.
But looking at video again- the teeth are too thick- and they appear covered in oil.
A flywheel had smaller teeth and should not be covered in oil.
they use the crankshaft position sensor hole.

Any Updates?? I'm having the same exact issue.
Have you checked the battery condition and cables to it, the chassis and engine block?
You don't say what model year you own, but if it is 5 to 10 years old, cables are subject to corrosion even under the insulation at the ends of the cables or at the starter itself.
