I stumbled upon a GPS mounting method a few months back and finally had a chance to install. There is a thin slot between the dashboard bin and A/C vents in which L-brackets can slide. I took 3 small brackets and secured them to a square piece of plywood. I disassembled a standard Garmin mount and screwed the base into the plywood. I ran the power cord into the A/C vent and snaked it through (had to drill a hole inside the duct) to a female lighter socket which I had spliced into a 12V wire behind the passenger kick panel -- unfortunately I couldn't find switched power so I need to turn the unit on/off manually. It's a very clean installation ... I feel it looks nicer than any of the ProClip hardware.

Nice install job. An ignition circuit is available in the center console. There are yellow wires at the right side of the console that are switched ignition circuits. Use a relay to power the GPS because the ignition circuit is driven by the body control module and may not be able to supply much current.

Here are some threads I was involved in about the wiring and console access.
