Anybody find a source of a decent outdoor cover that has a sewn in hole for the antenna? Cal Car cover has them without, but crappy little retrofit piece to install after you cut a hole in your new cover is chintzy. :angryfire:
I don't like the fact that any OTS cover you put on the Acadia will bend the antenna. If you cut an antenna hole in a car cover and leave it that way, it will gradually rip apart. The doublers that come with most covers are useless. Vinyl fabric patches work, but they leave sticky goo on your car. So, this is how I solved the problem. I used tyvek scrap from another car cover, along with needle and thread to add a doubler. It's tedious and could probably be done quickly wiht an awl, but a worthwhile modification to keep your cover in tact.
Well most people don't put a cover on their DD unless it is for an extended period of time. : Besides, you could take the antenna on and off in a lot less time than it takes to get the car cover on and off anyways.
