yes it does. however, it will allow for it to integrated into your vehicle and not have some device sticking out. you would also be able to use the mic built into the car along with the car's speakers instead of using the mic and speaker built into the bluetooth device.

Too bad we can't add bluetooth functionality to the speakerphone that Onstar uses.

Maybe someone will develop a splice or something so we can all use our own cell phones on the equipment in our own vehicle. :banghead:

yes you can. that is what the device does. it allows for seemless integration of bluetooth without the aftermarket look. it also allows you mess with the nav. while the car is in motion among other things

As cool as this sounds, I'm not sure I want to start tearing into my dash and adding things until the warranty has expired.

If you don't mind spending a little more $$$, you can try this. Essentially, it allows you to use other carriers besides Verizon via a bluetooth device. It does a lot more. I won't go on...you can read the link.

Has anyone verified that this works with the Acadia? Their last generation did not. If so, I may upgrade. If anyone gets one could they please writeup the bluetooth functionality? Thanks.

Looks like a cool kit, can anyone verify that it does work with the acadia and what functions it actually uses from the onstar?

Obviously from the video the mute and front speakers, but does the onstar microphone work or no?

It does not seem to use the OnStar microphone: "USE HANDSFREE KIT MICROPHONE" from the last page of the manual at http://www.coastaletech.com/Downloads/GMX 320 INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUAL REV1.pdf.

Did I miss something?

From my research I came to the same conclusion. The lockpick (which does a lot of other things then just bluetooth intergration) just provides the wires for mute, audio input so you don't have to splice anything. But the lockpick does not use the onstar mic. You still need to use a 3rd party bluetooth kit/mic. Check this link out where the lockpick was installed on a different GM/onstar equipped vehicle. He used a Motorola bluetooth kit with the lockpick.

I'm still waiting for a device that truley integrates with onstar, using the car audio speakers and the onstar mic, so that I don't have any device sticky taped to my dash. Anybody find such a device yet?

I'm currently searching for something like this myself. I checked out lockpic but it seems like a hassle if I have to run a mic somewhere and by the time I buy that and a bluetooth kit it's a little expensive for what it is.
