Well, this went way easier than I thought. 12:38 head outside. Take a pic:

Grab tools, 4 ramps, turn car around and drive up on ramps:

Take the after pic at 1:29, less than an hour including putting tools away, turning back around for same pic reference:

Bought my black replacement piece from Calgary, $180 (CAD, much less in the US) including taxes and shipping.
I am very happy with the results!
Turned out very well. Glad it was an easy and more stylish improvement. (y)

Thanks.
I like it a lot. Enough so that the lower front valance just might end up getting replaced one day also.
Looks like PN 84161583
Other things ahead of that though.

I have been eyeing that front piece also. Not sure. With all the other chrome on the front, grille, headlight surrounds, etc it doesn't seem to bother us as much, But I do notice it more now after doing the rear.

Exactly. Not as bad as the rear, but stands out a bit more now.

Does anyone know the Part No. for a black piece for a single exhaust vehicle? The Part No. 84161585 is listed as being for a "without denali, with dual exhaust, black."

Do you have a link? I did a quick internet search, that number came up with a grey unit...

Just found one w/o dual exhust on GMPartsDirect. Color wasn't in the radar. Maybe someone can practice their Rembrandt skill.

Grey is the only one i see as well for single exhaust.

I'm thinking it's likely because black and chrome valances were only on V6 engine higher trim levels.
I've seen black on SLE AT4 models . . but again. . . V6.

I was out of town for most of the week.
Painting it may be the only option.

I’m thinking of ordering the Denali shiny valance instead of the Matt grey the SLT came with. Anyone have experience in replacing this part?

Experience as in the work required (yes, me), or experience as in ordering the chrome unit (no, I went black)?
First thing to consider; are your exhaust tips the same as the Denali?

I ordered my black unit from a dealer in Calgary. Came in no time, cheap, easy and quick to replace.
I would assume the chrome unit that said, would be just as easy.
