Just bought 2017 Acadia, I have looked at list of older post of troubleshooting the infotainment screen going black and reboot . Did Gm finally fix this, so if I take it to dealer is this update going to fix the problem. On the infotainment issue

Won't know what it will take to fix the problem until someone looks at it. The display on your car is separate from the radio receiver (except if your car is a 2017 Limited). Could require just a software update, or a new display to resolve. Dealer's service center is the place to go.

I have had this happen randomly since November of 2017 when I purchased my vehicle. It is usually black at start up, then after driving for about 10 minutes, the GMC logo appears and it ultimately goes to whatever Mode and Station I was previously on. I have gone several months without it happening then it will occur 2-3 times in a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum.
Perhaps what you were experiencing was over-the-air (OTA) updates to the vehicle's programming.

Easy fix.
Their is a wire (blue) that’s become loose that connects to the radio Modual located behind the glovebox on the right side.
Remove glovebox door , remove panel.Behind the panel you will see a Modual that mounted sideway , blue wire should connect to the box from left hand. Remove Modual and Unplug the wire and then plug back up. Check and see if the screen comes back on.
I fix my wife car doing that. If you need assistance you can text my phone 314-484-1107.

Thank you. There was no need to restate your 'fix' in a modified quote. If you add the vehicle's info to your profile signature, no one will have to ask about the Acadia again, unless you have a build-specific (SLE, SLT, or Denali) question.

I am experiencing the same thing, my screen goes black. It will work sometimes, but no indication of when it will work or not!
Curious as to what your dealer ever said about this, as my 2017 Acadia is now doing the same thing. Of course it just went out of the bumper to bumper warranty, and our dealership is an hour away from our home. By the time we drive there, the screen has turned back on. Dealer says they can't diagnose a problem that they cannot see, so we have to bring it when it is "acting up." No rhyme or reason as to when or why it will happen.

We have a 2017 limited. The sounds all work fine but the display is black. Any suggestion?

For those with +2017 2nd generation Acadia (Not Limited old style) - - -
You could try disconnecting the battery negative lead for 20 minutes or so and then reconnect.

Or. .. . try checking out this connector behind the glove box that connects to the screen. Some have had a loose or intermittent connection with it. It is a bit fragile so care should be taken.

The video posted above has nothing to do with the Acadia Limited - it's for the 2nd generation C1XX platform Acadia.

Could be the head unit has gone bad. The display on Lambda platform vehicles is an integral part of the head unit - the display can be changed, though. Somewhere on the forum is a link to an aftermarket supplier of integrated displays for various model years and types of GM head units. The other choice would be changing the head unit altogether.

Thank you. Do you have a link to a display that I can get to just change the display. Also, do you have a link for a new head unit. Thanks again

You can probably find them as quickly as I can. Use your search skills on the forum and internet. If you want a head unit with different features than what you already have, look at what Crutchfield has to offer and then search the 'net for the best price on that particular unit.

Hi same problem except mine is a 2015 - it wasn't working when i bought it recently - i suspected the used car dealership didn't do a thorough job and it might be an easy fix. This past week (after driving it for almost 1 month it has been on 65% of the time - no rhyme or reason to is afaik) -- i'm a poor teacher so any help on how to fix this would be amazing.
