I have a 2019 Acadia and I am having problems with corrosion on the negative lead. Corrosion is building up quickly. When the corrosion builds up to much I get the power steering warning and the thermostat stops reading anything. I clean the lead and everything works again. I put the anticorrosion spray on it but it is still building up. I did replace the battery a few months ago. Any suggestions?
I'd remove the cable(s), wire brush the post and terminal (particularly inside). Put it back on, make sure it's pushed down nice and snug, then tighten. Lastly cover all with something like petroleum jelly.
Thank you for posting this. I had paid a lot of money to have the power steering and thermostat problems fixed on my 2017 Acadia, and what do you know, had to replace the battery last summer with a ton of corrosion. I will look into this going forward.
