Since it is recommended to keep your AWD under 55 for the first 500 miles while it "breaks in" I would think that it would make sense to consider flushing the fluid out after the break-in period to get rid of the metal particles. Usually there is a magnetic plug that will trap the particles, but it seems it would be worth it to take that extra step just like changing the engine oil after a break-in period.

There was a real early post on the reason for the breakin period. Can't remember exactly what it said, but I don't think that there was any worry about having metal particles in the tranny.
