aftermarket sub with factory stereo

So I am looking at adding an aftermarket 8-10" sub to our 09 Acadia to give it a bit more oomph I was wondering if anyone else here has added just a sub to their stock Acadia setup? I really do not want to put in an aftermarket deck and all that goes along with it I allready have more than enough stereo equipment in my Malibu.

i haven't put one in my acadia but i can help you do it if you need help, i have a lot of customers who pay to add subs to a factory stereo and it is very simple and inexpensive, the best thing to do is to pick out what you will be installing, get an amp wiring kit and an output converter (best buy, walmart) this will allow you to tap into your rear speakers and create rca cables for your Factory HU along with a remote wire to turn your amp on and off.
DSNY FN,

Are you installing the DIC w/harness or will the dealer do it?
Keep us posted, as I would like to upgrade the DIC w/o
the tri-zone climate control.

Thanks!

I am having my stereo installer do the DIC buttons I took him the schematic I got from teh dealer which meant nothing to me and he took one look and said hell that will be a piece of cake. I will be there for the install so I can snap some pics of what gets done to post here.

I allready have a small Pheonix gold amp that I replaced out of my malibu for a more powerful amp and an controller that was with said PG amp I am still undecided what sub to go with as I haven't had a chance to call my installer yet to see what he would reccomend. The long weekend and all plus he was away at a drag race this weekend.
Aside from sounding ignorant, but with is a DIC?

Have you heard anything about it causing a ECM failure? About a year ago I ran 2 12" and a JL500/1 amp and I recently had an ECM failure. The dealer mentioned that the failure was due to the aftermarket system. I have a JL13.5W3 with the 500/1 Class D amp and I'm hesitant on installing it. Also would a capacitor keep it from failing anytime soon?

I have a 2020 acadia, and I'm trying to install 12" subs with a 1000w Amp. Both are fockford fostgates. I have everything run and now I made it to the rca cables. I need to know the best place to tie into, without using a converter box. Any help is appreciated I was going to tie into the rear door speakers but I cannot find a diagram that shows me what wires are pos and neg.
