Hi everyone,

I finally decided to buy an Acadia. Im just wondering whether the acadia front bumpers would affect driving on sand?!

I heard that it could break if strongly hit the sand..

Anyone experienced anything similar?!

I've never driven in the sand, but based on cleaning the front bumper a few times, I would think anything you strongly hit would break the bottom part of the front bumper. It seems to be more cosmetic than anything else.

How does the Acadia drives in the sand anyway??

Is it practical in the sand?? Is it likely to bog down??

Would any of you recommend it to a beach or desert person??

Thanks :help:

Hard packed sand would be ok, but soft deep sand I think would be a problem. There is no low range and this isn't an off road car. It probably would be easy to overheat the transmission in deep sand.

Yes, this is NOT an off-road vehicle, but more an all-weather road tourer.

As said, very hard packed sand should be no problem...but anything beyond that, it may be able to do it, but it wouldn't be recommended. Between the bumpers and the AWD/suspension set-up for smooth road use, jumping sand dunes (or just running around them at any speed) probably would not be advised or possible.
