When towing our 08 Acadia behind our motorhome , as per the owners manual I removed the 50am fuse, started every 8 hours but when we arrived at our camp site the battery was dead
any ideas?

Why would you remove a fuse?
Not sure what your problem is but I had a problem charging my tt battery with the acadia. Turns out the fuse for the power supply to the trailer was blown. Check all the fuses related to towing. There should be 3.

(Sorry can't edit from bb)
It would be easier to disconnect the 7pin than removing a fuse. Plus you are less likely to forget that you unplugged the 7pin as you are more likely to notice the trailer lights not working.

He's towing his Acadia with a Motorhome not towing a trailer with his Acadia.
