I would like to ask the question if replacing the timimg chain sprockets are worth the money. I repair a few of these problem motors a year and wonder if it's really worth spending the money on sprockets. I don't like to cut corners, but hate to spend the money if it's really not necessary. Thoughts?

Assuming you are taking the engine apart to replace the timing chains, I would say yes. Enough miles to wear the chains out, then like you said - why cut corners?

I agree, if you're rebuilding an engine replacing the timing chain and sprockets is a no brainer, in my book. Stop and think how much time/money it would cost later?

Yea but are there any actual failures from the sprockets alone to suggest that they wear out and need to be replaced when messing with the chain???

what if they can easily go 500,000 miles and people have been replacing them FOR NO REASON at all? 🤷🏻‍♂️

What if? A glance at Rock Auto shows these are $20-45 parts (each). Don't know for sure how many there are - perhaps five? Sounds like cheap insurance if one already has the engine apart to replace the chains. If they were $hundreds each there might be an argument to re-use them.
