Howdy all, i'm back with another issue with my leased 2021 Acadia Denali. Throw this on top of the Leak that shorted out the main computer rending the car a paperweight for a week, and the old Rear spring that decided it didn't want to be part of the car anymore at 70 mph. Those issues were fixed, but this one is something thats coming back around.

Its hard to pinpoint when this happens, but I am getting alot of "Dashboard Reboots", where the entire gauge cluster and information led's, Radio completely do a random reboot, then it seems fine afterward. I know there was some update they did when the car went in for service some time ago, and the issue seemed to go away, but its back now.

From what im gathering, it tends to happen when the car is cold (or the temp is colder out in the 40s or below), and usually not long after the car is started. I tried to capture this on video the other day, and of course the car knew i was recoding and stopped doing it. It "rebooted" 6x in about a 4 minute span. I was driving along, looking at the road (this was at night, as i just had gotten on the highway), and i head DING DING DING like i just started the car, and i look down and the dash was entirely blank, the radio does the GMC Logo then everything wakes up.

This particular time, the right blinker was on, and when it rebooted I saw the blinker light still on outside the car (the handle was still down i was at a red light) and when the system rebooted all the sound stopped (since the blinker click is actually a radio played sound) so things were still working, but the computer obviously did a reboot.

After the last reboot, it stopped, things were fine.

Whats scary about this is the time the car computer shorted out due to the AC hose leaking all over it. Of course the car, which i lease til Feb 2024, is now OUT of warranty. I'm gonna wind up living with it, as im dont paying to fix things in this car that only has just about 40000 miles on it.. (The Radio Antenna shorted out 3 weeks ago, i had to have that replaced, $750).

The whole thing has left me (This is my second Acadia, 1st Denali) with a bad taste in my mouth for GMC. I'm debating on my next lease to go to another manufacturer. I love this car, but honestly, such horrible things have happened to it since i got it brand spankin new, m very leary. Sorry about the tangent at the end, but im pretty fed up.

Thanks, just passing Info.

How many miles are contracted on your lease?

I lease my daily drivers and would never lease one for longer than the warranty period.
My lease is 3 years 60,000 Miles. The bumper to bumper is 3/36000. Its a company leased car, i didn't get an extended on it because i had to pay $4000 up front to keep the cost i pay the same as the SLT i leased before it ($650/mo).

Sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience with your 2021 Acadia. I also have a 21' Acadia and have had the dashboard go black on me one time. When it happened, the engine was cold and I was backing out of my garage. The outside temperature was probably in the 50's. The mileage at the time this happened was around 12K. The system rebooted itself, and it has not happened again. No error codes were generated. If it happens again I will definitely take the car to my dealer and get it on record in case this becomes a bigger problem down the road when the car is outside the standard warranty.
