Yes, and there are existing threads about it.
I think it's a combination of possibly 6/4 cylinder switching, but more so shifting 2-4 for fuel economy. I find it only happens under light throttle and/or low RPM shift.
My manual tranny Z06, in stock form, would force a 1-4 shift under certain conditions (low throttle, low RPM shift...).
Makes sense to me.
Yes. Taken my 2017 Denali in numerous times now, many reflashes, TCM, torque converter replaced and still worse than ever. Got GM corporate involved to push for a new trans. We shall see where that goes.
I had started a Thread few years back for similar issue with my 2017 Acadia with 3.6 V6 and it has 6 speed tranny.
I had thought that when gears shift from 2-3 gears it holds RPMs too long which feels weird. This usually happen when starting from a stop and slowly accelerating.
But now I feel issue is (like few mentioned above) its shifting directly from 2 to 4th gear causing RPMs to rapidly drop, giving that freewheeling feeling.
I never got any concrete answers from anyone. Also I never took it up with dealership and now my vehicle is out of warranty , so not worth the hassle.
When in Sport mode, I believe this issue is not seen. Probably it doesn’t skip any gears.
