Hi all,

Recently my 2017 has been experiencing some problems opening the power liftgate. It doesn’t matter if you press the button on the driver's door, keyfob, or button on the liftgate itself. It doesn’t open the first time, instead the lights blink, after pressing 2-3 times it opens. Any thoughts or ideas?

First question for you: Is there any B2B warranty remaining on the car? If yes, demonstrate the problem to a dealer's service personnel and have them fix it. If no, check the liftgate fuse at position F45 in the rear compartment fuse box. The fuse is not blown if the liftgate is working at all, but checking (pulling and reinstalling) it will assure the fuse is seated properly and the blades are making good connection. If that doesn't help, the problem must be diagnosed by someone with a scan tool. Liftgate operations are commanded through the BCM.

Do the lights normally blink when you unlock the doors? I'm guessing maybe it's unlocking the liftgate on the first press, then raising it on the 2nd?

Unfortunately there is no warranty remaining. If the fuse were loose, would it operate at all?
Would depend on how 'loose' it is. A slight jiggle could complete the circuit. ON the other hand, a dirty connection could allow enough signal to pass through for part of the command to be completed. Digital electronics can be fun! :ROFLMAO:
